Pinecrest scored twice in the second half, rallying to a 2-1 girls' soccer victory at Jack Britt Wednesday evening. An early first-half goal by the Buccaneers' Renee Anderson, off a cross from Chazlyn Batalona, held up until about four minutes into the second half. Then the Patriots' Amber Fernandez was fouled just above the home team's penalty arc. The free kick specialist for the Pats delivered a shot that went high into the net for the equalizer. Midway through the final period, Latanya Cain carried the ball a long way on a Patriot counterattack before scoring the game-winning goal. The loss was the first in Mid-Southeastern Conference play for Jack Britt, now 3-1 and 6-2-1 overall. The Patriots, who travel to Lumberton this evening for a 7 p.m. contest, improved to 6-0 in the league and 7-0-1 overall. <-Previous 3-19-07 vs Hoke County (W, 3-0) 3-23-07 at Lumberton (W, 6-2) Next-> |
