The Pinecrest girls' soccer team scored all of its goals in the last 11 minutes of the first half on the way to a 3-0 home victory over defensive-minded Hoke County Monday. Molly Lynch opened the scoring by rocketing a shot into the net from about 18 yards away off a pass from Lyndsey Anderson. About four minutes later, Latanya Cain scored an unassisted goal, making it 2-0. Anderson connected from about 15 yards out, three minutes before the intermission, to complete the scoring. The Patriots, 5-0 in the Mid-Southeastern Conference and 6-0-1 overall, advanced from 10th to eighth place in this week's state 4-A poll. They face their toughest conference test of the season when they travel to Fayetteville this evening to meet a Jack Britt squad that is 3-0 and 5-1-1. <-Previous 3-15-07 at Westover (W, 12-0) 3-21-07 at Jack Britt (W, 2-1) Next-> |
