     Station #12 covers the southern part of Durham which is densely populated with multi-family residential and commercial structures in and around RTP, with Interstate 40 running through the center of the district, Ladder 12 covers the southern half of East Durham and the entire southern portion of the city, L12 is second due to NC Central University and it's first due territory runs all the way to the Chapel Hill border.
