1989 Gruman Aerialcat 102' Tower Ladder

   Ladder #12 is one of 5 aerial devices operated by the City of Durham. Ladder 12 is the third newest of those 5, it was placed in service in 1989 as "ladder 1". The truck was later replaced by the current ladder 1 in 1998 and moved to station #12. The truck is equiped with the typical compliment of ladder co tools, vehicle extrication tools, and some limited rope rescue equipment. Ladder 12 covers the southern half of the city, with "first due" responses with engines 4, 6, 12, 13, and "second due" responses with engines 1, 5, 11.
