My Family

"UPDATE: Oct. 19, 2009"

Time flies when you're having fun!
Doesn't seem like its been close to four years since I updated
this page. But dates prove I'm slow.

My most important update this time is the additions to our family. My daughter Kristen, married
Scott and they have given us two beautiful, darling grandkids that we love so very much.
Lyndsey Alexandria was 3 the 1st of May and Jayden Alexander will be 2 the 30th of November.
We also gained a step-daughter, Natasha who is 15 now and Hunter who will soon be 9.
Natasha is living with Kristen and her daddy now and they live just down the street from us
so we have our grandkids handy.

Our youngest son Dustin is married now. And yeh, he did marry the one he introduced
to me as my future daughter-in-law. He and Natalie just had their 3rd anniversary.
They want to have a baby but sometimes it just takes time.
They do have a four-legged baby, a cute adopted dog name Brownie
which Dustin lovingly refers to as my granddaughter.
I might add too that Scott and Natalie are my son and daughter.
I dropped "in-law" long ago. They are #3 son and #2 daughter.

Tim is still unmarried and with us. My mom is still with us
and was 86 in June. She is still doing good although she is forgetful. She
still gets around good and enjoys having her great grandkids handy.

My hubby Jerry is retired but don't see him much since he likes
to paint and spends most of his time painting for people.
He now has three g-grandsons and a g-granddaughter
from his first marriage and still hasn't seen any of them.

Pet update - We lost Willie Walker but still have Sadie and Daisy.

"UPDATE: JAN. 6, 2006"

Time to update! I'm slow and have had good intentions of updating but never got around to it.
Since I was here I decided I'd go ahead and bring this page up to date.

Where do I start?? First, my youngest is now 18 and graduated from high school in June of 2005
(Remember he is the one that was epileptic, had attention deficit and learning disabilities.)
I am happy to say that he hasn't had a seizure since the last of the 8th grade
and is off medication as well. He graduated with a 2-1/2 year perfect attendance
and on the A/B honor roll. Of course we are all very proud of his accomplishments. He is working,
has his license and has bought himself a 2001 Dodge Dakota. He is also dating and introduced her
to me as my future daughter-in-law. Well, time will tell!

My daughter will be 21 this year and is engaged to a nice guy named Scott.
They are also about to make us grandparents to Lyndsey Alexandria--unless she changes
the name before then and unless she fools the medical profession and comes out a boy!
Naturally, we will love it regardless of what it is! Lyndsey will be my first grandbaby,
but Jerry already has 3 granddaughters and a grandson and also a g-grandson and another on the way.
Lyndsey will be the first he will get to see since he hasn't seen his daughter since she was 7
and has never seen the grandkids except in pictures.

Along with getting #3 son shortly, we are also getting a very "special" grandson.
He's a cute little guy named Hunter. Hunter is 5 and we love this kid a lot!
He's a sweetheart and of course I have him spoiled--what are kids for anyway??
Hunter has a sister named Natasha. She doesn't come around as much as he does
but we love her too.

My oldest son Tim, is 27 and still unmarried and we are still with my mom who will be 83 in June.
I thank God everyday that He has left her with us and that she is as healthy as she is.
She is on no prescription medicine but I give her vitimans and calcium since she has osteoporosis.

We now have another puppy to go with Sadie.
Daisy is a 10 month old lab. We got her when she was only 2 weeks old.
They had to take the pups away from the mother because she was killing them so we got her.
Naturally she is spoiled too, just like the kids.
I will add pictures of her later too. As for the guinea pigs I have on another page,
they have all died. We only have one now named Willie Walker.
We got him after the babies were a few weeks old.

. I would like to tell you a little about me and my family. I have been married 23 years to a wonderful Christian man named Jerry. I met him because his parents lived out the street from us. He was in the US Navy when they moved out there and when he came out of service he was already married to someone he had met in California. Ten years and two kids later they divorced. Jerry later moved in with his parents and we started talking. It wasn't long before he asked me out and we were married 5 months later.

A year after we were married we had our first son, Timothy. He is 22 and a nice looking young man...even if he is mine!! He was named after my dad who was sick when we got married. He was called Home to be with the Lord when I was 5 months along with his first grandson. I had told him if it was a boy I was going to name it after him, so Tim is Timothy Edgar after my dad.

We had our darling daughter about 6 and a half years later. Her name is Kristen. My husband named her Wendy and the Kristen was because there was a little girl in Tim's kindergarten class named Kristy and he liked it and ask if he had a sister if we could name her Kristy. I told him we could name her Kristen and he could call her Kristy if he wanted to. Kristen is 16 and a beautiful young lady. She doesn't like for you to say that to her because she doesn't think she is!

Our second son came along two years later. He will be 14 this June. Dustin is a nice looking guy too!! He is in the 8th grade. Dustin is "special" because he is epileptic and has AD/LD. God chooses to give His "special kids" to "special" moms and I am thankful and blessed that He chose "ME" to care for one of His special kids!! Dustin was diagnoised with epilepsy when he was 9 and we were told he might outgrow it. He has had three different types of seizures but what he has most is the starring ones and the petit mal seizures. He has only had one grand mal and that was when they looked further for his problem. Feel free to email me if you have a "special" child too and would like some advice or encouragement.

As I said earlier, I have two step-children by Jerrys first marriage. Linda is the step-daughter and she is the mother of 3 girls, Ashley, Kelly and Kimberly and a boy William. They range in age from 9-16. Michael is the step-son and as far as we know he is unmarried. He lives in Washington where his grandparents live.

We live in the mountains of Western North Carolina and go to North Hazelwood Baptist Church where we were married. Jerry was saved and baptised there before we were married. He is Sunday School Superintendent and has also driven the church van for the past 16+ years. He used to teach a Sunday School class but has to go before preaching to pick up our residents from a local rest home.

I am going to add a page with our church on it when I find the picture. So keep checking into the site to see what has been added. Right now it might not be much to you but maybe later you might find something you like.
