Current Film: Beeper

The thriller, currently in production, stars Ed Quinn as Doctor Richard Avery, who's son is kidnapped while he is attending a convention in Hyderabad, India. He faces a 24 hr nightmare. Left with only a beeper containing a text display through which instructions will be sent, a desperate Avery is taken on a wild, frantic goose chase in a strange and foreign country. Following instructions, he literally runs into a young drug dealer in the seediest part of town, momentarily losing his beeper as it flies off his belt. The beeper's instructions lead Avery to an abandoned building where he discovers a large bag of cocaine. Examining the beeper, Avery realizes that it is not his; he must have picked up the wrong one after colliding with the drug dealer. His lifeline to the kidnappers is gone. Fleeping with the drugs, Avery is now on a mission to find his beeper - the cocaine being his only lead. What he doesn't know is that the site of the pickup is under police surveillance. With the police on his tail, his son kidnapped, someone else's drugs in his possession, his beeper missing, and time running out, Avery's world comes crashing down. If the kisnappers see the police, they will instantly kill his son. Venturing into a dangerous underworld, Avery tracks down 'Zolo', the merciless drug kingpin from who he stole the cocaine. Putting his life on the line, Avery bribes a volatile Zolo with his own drugs to help him find the runner who accidently took his beeper. The endeavor is an especially painful journey for Avery, who lost his wife to an overdose a few years earlier. Arrested for drug posession, Avery narrowly escapes from the police. One hour left and he still cannot find his beeper. Distraught, desperate and on the run, Zolo suggests that Avery has been following everyone else's directions... the police, the kidnapper, and even Zolo's.... and that perhaps it is time for Avery to take matters into his own hands. Following this advice, he uncovers an elaborately orchestrated scheme involving far more than a simple kidnapping. Were the beepers intenionally swapped? Forced to collaborate, Avery and Zolo make a very unique team. One a physician, the other a dealer, two men from opposite worlds and with very different motives. Can they work together to untangle an extremely dangerous web?
