Mika's comment at the arrivel to Brazil: "The whole team is optimistic that we will leave Brazil with a good result and I'm focusing on scoring my first points of the season - and my third consecutive Brazilian Grand Prix victory". |

In the qualifying sessionMika Häkkinen can be described with one single word: Untouchable! He waited a long time before entering the track the first time, he warmed up, he took the pole position, and NO ONE else beat his time after that - oh, except for Häkkinen himself. After this he must be considered his own worst enemy, he he. The session was stopped three times due to commercial signs falling down on the track. Coulthard made a great second, Schumi third, Barrichello fourth. |

Mika's comment after the qualifying session: "I'm very happy to have claimed my third consecutive pole position at the Brazilian Grand Prix. It was a complicated qualifying and I feel I could've been even quicker if the session had not been disrupted by the rain. I feel confident for tomorrow's race". |

The race:It was difficult to accept it when Mika's car broke down in Australia two weeks ago, but perhaps even worse when the nightmare repeated itself today in Brazil. Even though Mika had to let Schumacher pass already in the 2nd lap, because Schumis car was much lighter and therefor much faster and he that way made a 20 seconds lead, I got my hope back when Schumis first pit stop took longer time (appr. 30 seconds in all) than he had made lead, which meant that he didn't make it back on the track in front of Mika, who now had a light car himself too. Mika increased his lead with one second per lap but by the time he was leading with more than 10 seconds in front of Schumi (and victory was almost sure) the car once again broke down, in lap 29, and Schumi drove to the finishing line without rushing it since Coulthard came in second long after. Honestly, this was very upsetting! Häkkinen really deserved to win today but no. McLaren still hasn't learned... Barrichello also had to quit in the middle of the race because of engine problems, which surprised me since he's driving for Ferarri this year. I felt a bit sorry for him, he's a nice fellow and Brazil is home soil. Oh well... And that's all that can be said about today's Grand Prix. |

Mika's comment after the race: "Obviously the word disappointed can't describe how I feel. We have been quick throughout the weekend so I'm not happy to leave Brazil without any points. We have some work to do before the start of the European season". |

Last year Mika also took pole position in Brazil but unlike this year he actually WON last year's race, despite of gear box problems, with 5 seconds ahead of Schumi. |
