Alyssa twirled around a few times in her chair waiting for Patti to come back in the room to finish her makeup. Tonight was the banquet, all in her honor. She was a little nervous though. Everyone would be there, the guys friends and family, their management. Plus, Justin had mentioned that a few other celebrities would be invited.
"Ok, I'm back..." Patti walked in front of Alyssa adding a little blush to her cheeks. "All right well, your makeup is all finished sweetie. You look so beautiful. The last thing is you getting dressed. And you said you already had it picked out?" Patti asked grabbing Alyssa's hand looking at her manicured fingers.
"Yeah, I got it yesterday before the concert. It's gorgeous," Alyssa smiled, touching her cheek lightly in the mirror admiring the beautiful job Patti had done.
"Just how formal is this?"
"Very..." Alyssa sighed standing up carefully. "Thank you so much..." she reached out to give her a hug, Patti patted her shoulder comfortingly.
"My pleasure, now I'm going to leave. You get dressed, and be ready to knock em dead..." She winked at her slowly shutting the door behind her. Alyssa spun around in a small circle over to the closet.
Alyssa jumped when she heard someone knocking on the door. Opening it slowly, Justin walked inside closing the door softly behind him. All Alyssa could do was stare at how incredibly masculine, and handsome he looked. A tuxedo fit him perfectly, all the way up to his tamed curls. Justins eyes were focused on her as well. It was all he could do to breathe, let alone even attempt at pulling his eyes away from her. Each lock of hair had been perfectly curled clasped on the top of her head. Tendrals fell all around her face, framing her flawless features. A rose tinted gloss was added to her lips, and her makeup only multiplying her beauty. Diamond studs pinned her ears, matching the dainty chain and diamond cross she wore around her neck. Her dress was a pale yellow, thin straps held it in place, leaving her neck, and shoulders open. It was fitted in the top, puffing out at the waist. Pale sequins showered the top, making it barley sparkle when it hit the light. The same thin straps, criss crossed her entire back, leaving it almost completely open.
"You...you look amazing," Justin's voice was caught in his throat as he watched the way her eyes shined.
Endless rows of eyelashes concealed the depth of her aqua eyes, every time she would close her eyes they would almost tickle at her cheeks. He let out a parched breathe taking her hand gently. Very slowly he slid a corsage up her wrist, she sighed glancing down at the white roses.
"Thank you..." She said softly, lacing her fingers together with his.
He gave a filtered smile walking carefully out of the room, leading her down the stairs. A white stretch limo was waiting at the curb for them. Justin placed a hand on her waist, the other on her arm helping her inside the door. Closing it lightly behind them he still held onto her hand. His eyes once again slid over to her, focusing on the pure beauty and poise radiating out of her.
"Is something wrong?" She asked softly, turning around to look into his face. He gave a small smile shaking his head.
"No, I was just thinking about how incredibly beautiful you look right now," Justin sighed tilting his head a little. Leaning in until his lips touched hers, she smiled against his lips returning their gesture.
"I dont want to mess up your makeup, nor do i wont lip stick on me..." He smiled, tracing his fingers down her jawline. She laughed a little, making her eyes sparkle. Justin smiled again.
"What now?"
"I think thats the most amazing thing in the world...I would die for that right there," he whispered turning his gaze to the window. Alyssa swallowed hard reaching up to touch his shoulder.
"And, and whats that?"
"That sparkle, the way your eyes shine when you laugh," His voice was graveled, as the limo stopped, the door opening.
The driver stood tall outside the door. Justin smiled walking out into the cold air. Extending a hand to help her Justin folded his fingers around hers as she stepped out. The door clicked closed behind them, Alyssa looked up at the large building. It was completly white with two large revolving doors. Tiny flickers of light went off around them, a few anxious photographers snapping shots of the two, and the other people arriving.
Linking arms with Justin, Alyssa followed his lead into the large building escaping the coldness, and the reporters. Alyssa's shoes made a tapping sound against the ceramic tile, as they walked through the nearly emtpy lobby. It led inside a large area, opening up dramatically. The walls were white, a large chandelieir dangled from the ceiling, sparkling a different way with every glimpse of light. A Spiral staircase led upstairs to a different area, and a band was set up on stage. Several tables were arranged all around the room, covered with white table cloths, with a single gold line running through the middle. Large flower arrangments centered each of the tables, and dishes were arranged in front of every chair.
"It's so gorgeous," the words were light against her lips, as Justin pulled a chair out for her, sitting down carefully she continued to look around the room. The music was soft and seemed to float around the room. Everything felt like nothing but a dream, pure magic. Alyssa couldnt even begin to fathum that this was all for her.
"You look lovely," Alyssa jumped when she felt Lance's hand hit her shoulder. Turning around she looked up smiling at him.
"You dont look to bad yourself," She gave a half smile winking at him.
He laughed a little, sitting down beside her. They all just sat there for awhile, as more people started coming in. Alyssa hadnt recognized more than half of them, and she knew a lot of friends and family of the guys were there.
"Excuse me everyone," Lance stood in the center of them room holding up his hands. It took a few minutes but everyone quieted down, and focused their attention on him. "I would like to make a little toast..." he smiled, wrapping his fingers around his glass. "This is to the music. How it has changed all of our lives, in little ways, or altered it complelty. To the universal language that has brought all of us ogether. So here on this beautiful night to celebrate the impact of this music on another person's life. We wish you luck Alyssa..." Lance raised his glass, everyone around him doing the same. Alyssa smiled, looking over at Justin.
"I have a surprise for you," Alyssa laughed as Justin took her hand leading her out to the area where everyone was dancing.
As if on cue the music started, and Alyssa immediatly felt her mind spin. Placing his hands gentley on her waist, he brought her body close to his, her arms sliding around his neck.
"Remember the night on the beach?" Justin's voice was low and gravled, his breathe tickling at her cheek.
"I could never forget..." She swallowed hard, letting her fingers circle the curls on his head.
"This song...was the song I sang to you when I realized that I-..."He swallowed hard, letting his cheek rest against her own soft skin. When he felt her rub his back reasuringly he smiled again. "When I first realized that I loved you..." Her breathing began to get uneasy, as she moved along with the beginning sounds of the song.
"Look at the sky tell me what do you see
Just close your eyes and describe it to me
The Heavens are sparkling with starlight tonight
That's what I see through your eyes
I see the Heavens each time that you smile
I hear your heartbeat just go on for miles
And suddenly I know that my life is worthwhile
That's what I see through your eyes"
Justin was humming the familiar song softly in her ear, as they rocked back and forth together. Alyssa closed her eyes as she sang the words very lightly.
Here in the night I see the sun
Here in the dark our two hearts are one
It's out of our hands we can't stop what we have begun
And love just took me by surprise
Looking through your eyes
I look at myself and instead I see us
Whoever I am now it feels like enough
And I see a girl who is learning to trust
That's who I see through your eyes"
A single tear trailed down her face, the words light against her lips. It summed up her feelings to a tee, and it was harder than she realized to face it. Justin's eyes blazed into hers as his finger traced up the tear wiping it away. He kissed his finger, placing it softly on her lips. Another tear managed to escape, as he whispered the rest of the song to her. She laided her head against his chest, feeling the rise and fall of his breathing, and the steadied beating of his heart. She felt so safe in his arms, and prayed that the way she was feeling at the moment would last forever. As the song slowly played to an ending, Justin pulled away from her, kissing her cheek softly.
Her heart beat rapidly, her eyes fluttering a few times. Finding a table in the corner she sat down quiety. Her eyes wondered to everyone in the room, finally landing back on Justin.
"You look gorgeous Lyssie..." Her heart froze at the very moment, her eyes slowly sliding down to her shaking hands. Her voice trembled slightly, her throat choking on the words she was trying to say...
