"Are you nervous?" JC asked cautiously,as he watched Alyssa's legs bounce up and down, or her pace across the small perimeter of the room.
"It's not so much that I'm nervous, more on the lines of petrified," She sat down heavily, rubbing her eyes a few times. "Do you realize how many people watch this show? Do you know how many people are outside? How many people are going to watch just because you guys are there?" Alyssa sighed standing up again.
"Relax," Justin grabbed her arms, pulling her into him. When she felt her body against his, she immediately relaxed, as his arms slid around her waist. "Just calm down, and take a deep breathe. We've gotta go, so I want you to sit here and they'll come and get you in a second." Justin 's voice was soft, and smooth as he tried his best to sooth her nerves. Reaching out a hand he stroked the side of her face softly, kissing her cheek. Squeezing her hand before he left, he disappeared down the hall. Her eyes watched the monitor, as it went from a commercial back to the studio.
"Welcome back, I'm Carson Daly and you're watching Total Request Live. And with all the people out here, that can only mean one thing...*N SYNC. Come on out guys!" The audience erupted in screams, and it only magnified as the guys started yelling back to them in their microphones.
"Man, its great to see you guys again," Carson extended his hand to each of the guys, smiling at them and the audience. "So tell me what's up?"
"WELL, the second leg of our No Strings Attached tour is in full effect, and it's going great. We're going to a lot of the cities we already have been to, but also a lot of new ones," JC shook his head as he finished his sentence looking up at Carson.
"Any Christmas things planned? You guys released a CD last year..."
"We are going home. We have 3 days at home with our families. A little mini vacation," Justin's eyes brightened the moment he thought about the time they would have to visit and to just relax.
"Sounds wonderful. And if everyone hasn't heard, Lance has taken on a little bit of a side job, wanna tell us about it?" Carson asked, turning his attention to Lance as he shook his head in approval.
"I just signed a new artists to my record label, Free Lance Entertainment. Well, with Meredith Edwards, we are taking more of a subtle approach. Recording her entire CD, before we do any promotional stuff. BUT this new person is a a pop act, she's an opening act for us. She has an amazing voice, and she can dance. Plus she is such a sweetheart."
"Well, we have her here with us today, Alyssa Taylor..." Carson held out his hand as she walked up to the stage standing between the monitor, and Justin.
"Wonderful to meet you," She smiled reaching her hand out to Carson.
"You too. Now, your first single is called Happy. I've heard it, and it's awesome by the way," Alyssa blushed a little, she couldn't resist the smile that formed on her face. "Will there be a video soon?" Carson asked, rasing his eyebrows in question. Slowly bringing the microphone to her lips she answered.
"We're scheduled to shoot it in about 2 weeks."
"Cant wait for that. Now we have to go into a commercial, so more with Alyssa and *N SYNC after the break..."
The camera zoomed in on Carson, and then turned to each of the guys. When it zoomed up on Alyssa she gave a small smile, waving her hand.
"Relax..." Justin leaned in a little, whispering to her.
"This is about as relaxed as I can get..." She giggled. Justin smiled watching as her eyes sparkled when she laughed.
"That'a girl Lys..." He turned his attention over to the window, waving to the screaming fans in Time Square. Alyssa touched the glass timidly staring down at all the signs and people.
"Welcome back, we're here with *N SYNC and Alyssa Taylor..." Carson gestured over to the guys as they turned around back to the camera. The noise for the crowd outside softening a little.
"Before we get into our number 1 video, we have Kara on the line from Minnesota, you there Kara?" Carson asked as the girls voice filled the air.
"Yeah...I have a question for Alyssa and the guys both. Alyssa whats it like touring with the guys? And same for you guys about Alyssa?" Alyssa stopped and thought a moment, before licking her dry lips.
"It's a chance of a life time and I am so thankful to get to tour with these guys. And they are my friends, cause I met them before I got into the business. So it makes it even better to get to share my passion with the rest of the country, with 5 of my best friends..." She gave a half smile looking over at the guys.
"It's great. She's a fun girl to hang out with, and she really has a love for what she does. And not only do I think its important for her performance but it makes her even more special and fun to be around..." Lance explained, patting Alyssa's arm. SHe laughed again, making all the guys smile.
"That Answer you question Kara?'
"UH huh thanks guys...and ALyssa..." Carson's gaze turned to Alyssa "Would you mind singing something for us?" She looked over at Lance nervously, as he shook his head urging her to go on.
"I'd love to..." She swallowed, closing her eyes as she brought the microphophone all the way up to her lips. Everyone watched anxisouly as she cleared her throat one time, opening her mouth allowing the sweet sound to vibrate from the walls.
"In search of happiness, trying to find that one Who can make my life feel so complete, baby. If I only knew that someone was you, Boy there would've been more happy days, so don't you go away."
Her head tilted upward as she carried out the last note. When her micrpohne lowered to her lap, Carson was the first to start clapping everyone else soon following.
"That was amazing. Can't wait for you video to come out..." Carson shook her hand again as she waved to everyone walking back off the stage.
"And guys take us into the number 1 video?" he asked as Joey looked up at the cue cards smiling.
