As the girl looks at the newly sharpened knife, she
ponders death. She contemplates whether to slit her
wrists or put the knife back in the drawer where it
belongs. She revels in the fact that, at this moment,
she is playing God with her own life that desperately
hangs by a string. She has been here before. Then she
sees his face, his warm smile, caring eyes, and the
sound of his comforting voice. She sees the sad,
crying faces of her family and friends. She remembers
all the things that she does have to live for. She
puts the knife back in the drawer wondering why she
took it out in the first place.
