EPILOGUE

Power down! Another unified call resounded and their morphs evaporated in a superfine mist of energized particles.

“Good work, Rangers,” Sean said, nodding approvingly. He stepped down from his station. “The Omega Blaster will serve you well in your battles to come. Packs quite a wallop if I do say so myself.”

“If this is what you all came up with,” Ashley noted, “I can’t wait to see what the Zords are like!”

Angela chuckled from her station. “I promise you…you’ll be blown away. That reminds me: I have to get back to the refabrication bay.” And Angela made her way to the hyperportal.

“Blown away, huh?” Maya asked and then noticed that Jason, Bill and Sean were trying their best to not look directly at her. She looked down at the bikini she still wore and frowned. “It’s horrible, isn’t it?”

Uhhhhh…” Bill offered, his mouth agape slightly.

“I’ll tell ya later,” Ashley laughed.

“By the bye, Sean,” Jason started, “Thanks for the card, though I didn’t need the scare associated with ‘em.”

Sean laughed. “Bah! They’re just for effect!”

They all shared a laugh at that.

The room was quiet, save for the buzzing of flies. Vhund’s forehead touched the ground as he prostrate himself before his master, fear creeping into his heart with every passing second – a dagger of panic sliced through him when Docor Ruzan finally spoke.

You said that you would not fail me again, Vhund,Ruzan’s deep baritone echoed in the room. You lied.

“I...I am sorry, master,” Vhund stammered and kept his voice above a hoarse whisper. “They…They are more tenacious than we…I…anticipated. I beg your forgiveness. Please.”

Ruzan stepped down from his throne and petted Vhund on his bald pate. You lied to me, Vhund. And, you know how much I hate being lied to. I hate it so much, in fact, that no one has lied to me in over a century. I’m not about to tolerate it now. I will definitely not tolerate it from my general. He paused and then looked down at Vhund. Contemplate this…in the Pit of Sorrow.

MASTER! Vhund looked up, a fearfully wild look in his eyes. PLEASE, MASTER, NO!

Ruzan snapped his fingers, two Darklings appearing and grabbing Vhund by the arms. See to it that he screams loud enough – as an example to these other two failures! A gesture with his chin towards Prima and Iaxious before he nodded to them. They took Vhund away who screamed and pleaded. Though he could have easily have overpowered the Darklings, his master’s word was absolute law.

BEGONE! Ruzan screamed to the other two who quickly left the room lest their master’s anger bore upon them. He turned and stared at a mystical viewport, watching the city of Arlington Falls. Time soon enough, Power Rangers, where you and this world will bow to me! So swears DOCOR RUZAN!
