PART III

Sean materialized, simultaneously, with Jason just as Maya and Ashley did, as well. Bill and Sabrina rushed out the hyperportal and down the steps to the Viewing Globe, activating their stations as they analyzed the available data.

“Report!” Sean ordered.

“There is a monster disturbance in the Glenwood Acres sector of Arlington Falls, master,” Z.O.R.D.-1 announced.

“Some kind of shadow monster,” Angela said.

“Then it’s time we shed some light on the situation,” Sean said and turned around. “Rangers, I…” And he stopped.

The other Rangers followed his gaze and it landed on bikini-clad Maya. She shifted on her feet, looking down at the bikini. “It’s horrible, isn’t it?”

“Uh…no,” Sean chuckled and shook his head. Jason blinked a few times, as did Bill.

“Then what is it?”

Ashley put her hand on her shoulder. “I’ll tell ya later.”

Sean cleared his throat and looked towards the Viewing Globe. “Go, Rangers! And may the Power protect you!”

Jason nodded and flicked his wrist, the panels of styrex sliding away and revealing his Battle Bracer. “Let’s get eXtreme!”

“Right!” The Rangers shouted in unison, holding up their bracers, too. POWER TEAM…TO THE EXTREME!

Morphing into their armor, the eXtreme Power Rangers were teleported away by Angela.

They landed near the rampaging monster and the Alpha Ranger stepped forth.

Hey, ugly! Jason shouted. It’s time we shut you down!

Fright Knight turned around and laughed. “Well, if it isn’t the Power Rangers eXtreme! I shall delight in killing you!”

“You and what army?” Maya asked.

“Indeed,” Fright Knight said and, as if on cue, Vhund, Prima and a legion of Darklings materialized.

“Great!” Sabrina bared her teeth as her eyes landed on Prima.

“Me and my big mouth,” Maya lamented, striking a defensive pose with her fellow Rangers.

Vhund stepped forward and brandished his sword at Jason. “We have unfinished business, Red One.”

Jason stepped forward, too, removing his laserblade from his gauntlet. I am the Alpha Ranger and we’re going to stop you…with eXtreme prejudice! He ignited his weapon, holding it at an angle and stared at Vhund through his visor. Don’t sing it…JUST BRING IT!

Prima eyed Sabrina, priming her Wrath Staff. “I’ll have your head, Epsilon Ranger!”

Sabrina took off from the group; lifting herself from the ground and bringing her newly activated laserblade down. Prima blocked it and engaged in a weapons’ battle with her.

Beta, Gamma, Delta…take on the monster! GO! Jason rushed Vhund, trading blows with the General of the Neverwhere Army. The other Rangers nodded at one another and took off after Fright Knight.

They cut a swath through the Darklings, chopping them down with martial arts prowess. Maya took a ground course, kicking their legs out and, when they fell to their knees, she drove her own knees and feet into their faces. They exploded with muffled puffs and clouds of black smoke.

Ashley flipped through a group of Darklings. When she landed, she blocked a bladed blow with her telescoping energy shield from her gauntlet. Spinning on her heel, she kicked the creature into its friends. Catching a few more with punches to their sternums, she took to the air again, propelled by both her power and space training, flipped, and landed on one’s shoulders. Its comrade sliced at her ankles and she jumped, watching as the blade went right through the Darkling’s neck. Landing on the decapitated Darkling’s shoulders again, she blasted the few in front of her, flipped off and landed on another Darkling’s chest, slamming it into the ground.

Bill brought an elbow down into a Darkling’s shoulderblades. It disappeared in a muffled explosion and Bill followed it up with a straight kick to another. He spun around with another kick, taking a more gymnastic approach to his fighting. Flipping, he brought his feet down across two Darklings. He kipped up by spinning from his ground position, punching two more away from him and flipped over two more, bringing their heads together.

After they were done with the Darklings, the Beta, Gamma and Delta Rangers faced off with Fright Knight. Showing off their unified front, they rushed the creature who laughed menacingly.

Prima was backed against a concrete planter and almost lost her arm when Sabrina slashed with her laserblade. Tucking her staff under her arm, Prima leapt into the air and fired pulse after pulse of energy at the ground-bound Epsilon Ranger. Sabrina would not be denied and blocked each pulse with her shield. Releasing a war cry, Sabrina leapt after Prima, knocking the Neverwherian witch out the air with a stiff kick. Prima landed on the ground, clutching her chest and rushed the landing Sabrina. Sabrina spun to deliver a kick, but Prima was quicker and caught her full-bore in the stomach with an energy pulse. Prima spun her staff down and then up, clipping Sabrina under the chin. She spun on her heel and cracked the Epsilon Ranger across her jaw.

“Not so tough now, are we, Epsilon Ranger?”

Sabrina shook her head and then clenched her fists and teeth. Roaring, she took off after Prima again and Prima greeted her with an energy pulse. Sabrina dodged it, lancing at her with her laserblade. Managing to knock her Wrath Staff away from her, Sabrina brought the laserblade in a wicked arc across Prima’s chest, igniting sparks from the impact. Prima was flung backwards, heaving and grabbing at her chest.

“This isn’t over, Epsilon Ranger. Not by a long shot!” And Prima teleported from the battle scene.

Sabrina punched her own hand in frustration, the chance to finish off the woman passed. This isn’t over,” she mirrored before she looked over her shoulder and seeing her teammates fighting Fright Knight. She took off to join them.
