Haldir
It
is unknown when Haldir was born. He was an elf of Lothlórien whose job was
to guard its borders. He was also a good friend of Aragorn's. Haldir
was one of a small number of elves in Lothlórien that knew the common speech or
ever went abroad in Middle-earth. He had two brothers: Rumíl and Orophin.
In the books his fate is never told, but in the movie he was killed at the
battle of Helm's Deep.
