2007 RACE SEASON
GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION

The annual membership fee is $30 at meeting, $35 after the meeting day. Daily racing fee for members is $20 per driver per set, OR $45 for 3 sets. Daily racing fee for non-members is $25 per set. We typically run 3 sets in a day. This fee is non-refundable. Drivers must decide how many sets they want to run and pay for them BEFORE the drivers' meeting. After the start of the first set, you will not be aloud to pay for extra sets. Payment for races should be made no later than 11:15 AM. Drivers are not permitted to begin hot laps until they have checked in and paid. Once a round is paid for, there will be NO refunds for any reason. Currently, the top three point earners each race day will be awarded paybacks - $75 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd place.

Although it is not mandatory to be a paid member to race, it IS mandatory to be a paid member to earn points. The point season will start January 13, 2008 and continue for 10 weeks or as long as the permit allows, weather/ice permitting.

There will be a driver's meeting each race day at 11:30 AM SHARP, following hot laps. It is mandatory to attend this meeting. Any driver not at the meeting will forfeit their heat race and automatically drop to the consolation race. Late consolation entrants will be accepted at the flagman's discretion. Their position in the lineup will be based on a first come, first served basis at the back of the lineup.

Only drivers and crew members are allowed in race cars.
All drivers must sign the release of liability form every race day. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age, or 15 with a licensed driver in the car with them. Any racer/crew member under the age of 18 must turn in to the officials a signed slip from their parent/guardian before each race day giving permission to participate that day. Crew members must be at least 10 years old, 12 and under must wear seat belts and helmets. It is the driver's responsibility to read and understand these rules and to ensure the crew complies with these rules. If a driver is found on the track with a passenger under age 10, or with a passenger under 18 that has not had their parent/gardian sign a permission/release form, will be black flaged for that race.

Rubber Class
Each car is allowed to carry no more than one driver and four crew members at a time. Only one crew member is allowed in the front seat with the driver.
4-cyl Class
Each car is allowed to carry one driver and one crew member, both in the front seat. Both must wear helmets and seat belts.

If necessary, each week there will be a driver's meeting at the end of the race day to air out any problems occurring during that day. It is mandatory that all drivers attend the meeting if one is called. All problems will be settled by the club officials.

No alcoholic beverages or open containers allowed in race cars, the track area, or the pit area.

Drivers will be held responsible for the actions of their crew members. Any violation of the alcohol policy witnessed by a club official will result in the team being disqualified for the remainder of the season.

Any racer/member who behaves inappropriately will be disqualified for the day and asked to leave the track area. (Club official's discretion)

Absolutely no race cars are allowed on the track other than paid race days. There will be a $100 fine for anyone disobeying this rule. No cars on the race track before 11:00 on Sundays.

The number on the car will determine who scores points for each race. If a driver borrows a car he must have his number on the borrowed car to be properly scored.

Between races if the red flag is displayed where the flag man stands (at the exit off the track), absolutely no one is allowed on the track. Anyone disobeying this rule will be penalized 5 points from their total score.

Always be aware of our corner flagmen, who will be using the yellow flag (caution), the blue/yellow flag (move over, you are being lapped) to indicate track conditions in their respective corner. Flags displayed by the main flagman indicate race status for the entire track.

Absolutely no fighting on the track or in the pits. Complaints are to be taken to the club officials, who will settle the dispute. Problems will be discussed at the post race meeting. DO NOT GO TO THE SCOREKEEPERS OR THE FLAGMAN DURING THE RACE!!! If you do you will be out for 2 weeks.

Heats10
Consolation10
Feature15
Money10

The first week of racing, starting positions will be randomly determined. Each week thereafter point standings will determine the line up, being set up in inverted order. There will be either 2 or 3 heat races, approximately 12 cars per heat, unless there are not enough cars (flagman and club officials discretion) in which case there will only be 1 heat. If there are 3 heats there will be 2 consolation races, for 2 heats there will be 1 concolation race. If ther is only 1 heat race, there will be no consolation race and the feature lineup will be determined by the positions finished in the heat. The feature race lineup will have no more than 18 cars, consisting of the first 4 finishers from each heat lined up in inverted order, and the consolation drivers lined up in the order they finished. If a car drops from a race, the rest of the cars in that row will move up to fill the empty spot.

If someone has trouble leaving the staging area, 10 minutes will be allowed for repairs. If the repairs cannot be made in that amount of time, the car must be moved off the track. The parade laps and restarts are included in the 10 minute period. All other cars must stay in their positions during this time. DO NOT leave the line up if there are no problems with your car.

When each race starts, one full lap must be completed by all cars before a lead car is established. In the event that one full lap is not completed, one restart will be allowed. All restarts are by flagman's discretion. The car causing the restart will go to the back of the lineup.

It will be up to the flagman to determine if another car has interfered with the lead car and how to deal with the problem.

Any car lagging in the parade lap will lose its position and will go to the back of the lineup. (Flagman's discretion)

If all 4 tires leave the track, the car is disqualified from that race.

ABSOLUTELY NO EXITING STUCK OR NON-RUNNING CARS!!

If the main flagman or a corner flagman feels that a stuck car is in a hazardous location they will stop the race with the red flag and get the hazard removed. IF YOU HIT A STUCK CAR YOU WILL BE BLACK FLAGGED.

Just a reminder that each year we are under the gun for various reasons. Safety is our #1 concern and we need ALL members to be as safety concious as possible. This means controlling many things, like: Ramminess (both on and off the track), spectators, riders and others who are with you. If you see unacceptable behavior taking place, please deal with it. DON'T IGNORE IT!! If you are not comfortable doing that, please find someone who is.

Pit area speed limit is 5 MPH. Race cars must stay in the pit/track area.

Please always clean up spills as quickly and thoroughly as possible. And remember, we are on a lake. Clean up all your garbage before leaving.

Each week 6 car numbers will be randomly drawn, the drivers and crew members for those 6 teams will have to stay and clean up the track, pits, and spectator area.

In the past we have had trouble with minor consumption. Let's all do our best to keep that under control.

THANKS AND GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! Lets have a SAFE and FUN season!!!
