7-8pm -- How the Earth Was Made - Everest
It is the tallest and biggest mountain on earth, as far removed from sea level as it's possible to be--and yet its sedimentary layers contain fossils that were once creatures that lived on the ocean seabed. The Himalayas formed when India smashed into Asia--propelled by plate tectonics. Everest is still rising but its height is limited--extreme erosion counteracts and limits the amount of uplift.
8-9pm -- How the Earth Was Made - Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is nearly 300 miles long and over a mile deep. You could stack four Empire State buildings one on top of the other and they still wouldn't reach the lip of the Canyon. As vast tectonic plates clash and grind against one another a giant plateau has been pushed up over a mile in the air. The Colorado river, flowing from high in the Rockies and carrying a thick load of sediment, has carved an amazing canyon in the rising plateau.
9-10pm -- How the Earth Was Made - Earth's Deadliest Eruption
In the remote wastes of Siberia buried under snow are the remains of one of the greatest catastrophes that the Earth has endured. 250 million years ago, huge volumes of lava spewed out onto the surface--so much that it would have buried the whole of Texas under one mile of lava. At first the temperature dipped but then the greenhouse gases that escaped from the depressurized lava caused a massive global warming. It wreaked havoc and 95% of the species on Earth became extinct. Yet life hung on and in time this disaster paved the way for the next great phase of life on earth--the age of the dinosaurs.

Chimpanzees are known to us as amusing circus attractions and are even popular as pets, but when they attack the results are frightening and horrific. Just as disturbing, across the U.S., witness reports suggest that chimpanzees may be on the loose. In the 1920s and 30s, chimps were common in Florida as part of road side carnivals and zoos, but in some cases these animals were let loose or escaped. Today, not only are attacks from pet chimps on the rise, but witnesses in Florida describe encounters with what may be wild chimpanzees. Now, MonsterQuest trackers and primatologists investigate how vicious chimps can actually get, and whether the environment could sustain these primates by searching the swamps and wilderness for a population of wild chimps in America.

A deadly, slithering menace is taking over Florida and may be heading north. Every 15 minutes, Americans insert over 3.5 million coins into vending machines. We'll visit a sprawling factory that mass produces the latest in high-tech vending machines, and a small company that makes a giant gumball machine that holds 40,000 gumballs. Then, there's the dreaded parking meter, including new ones that can take credit cards and text message for help when they are being robbed or vandalized. We'll visit America's last pinball factory, and see what strange coin operated fare kept people amused 100 years ago. Is coin counting Coinstar the ultimate coin operated machine? We'll follow their coins all the way to a Brinks warehouse. Our last stop is Marvin's Marvelous Mechanized Museum, housing some of the weirdest coin-op machines ever invented. If seeing a life-sized, robotic old man vomit is your idea of entertainment, drop a couple of quarters into "Dr. Ralph Bingenpurge". Now, that's money well spent.

But, when the gun range owner says that simply firing it could cause a "catastrophic malfunction" the guys decide it's time to bring out their human guinea pig.

Did Titanic have a fatal design flaw? In August of 2005 John Chatterton and Richie Kohler (of "Deep Sea Detectives") led an expedition to Titanic, where they discovered two huge intact sections of the ship's bottom, the red paint still on. Naval architect Roger Long, along with a panel of experts concluded that Titanic broke apart earlier in its sinking than has been believed, due to a previously unknown design flaw. Chatterton and Kohler return to the wreck in 2006 searching for evidence to support this theory, but when their research vessel is recalled by the Russian government they head to Greece to dive Titanic's lost sister ship Britannic. The single longest linear feature on Earth--the "Ring of Fire" circles almost the entire Pacific. It is not only a place of natural splendor but a geologic treasure trove as well. Monsters lurk in our lakes and rivers and along our coastlines, waiting to get their jaws into their next victim. The Goliath Grouper is a monster fish that inhabits the tropical shallow waters of Florida and the Caribbean. In 1895, the New York Times reported on a monster grouper that measured in at over 1,500 pounds. This super-sized fish is making a comeback, growing to immense proportions with the aggression to match. A recent victim was attacked while spear fishing and describes having the Goliath grouper wrap its vicious jaws around his head. Meanwhile, in Minnesota, a resurgence of a monster no less aggressive is on the rise: the Muskie. Also known as the muskellunge, this monster fish has frightening teeth that draw blood from a growing list of victims. Now, our team launches expeditions beneath the waters of Florida and sends ROVs under the ice of Minnesota to find out how large and how aggressive these creatures can get.

How do you weigh a whale? We go to Shamu's Tank at Sea World to find out. How does your speedometer work? Off to GM's test track for the answer. We'll look at the five most common areas of measurement in our everyday lives: distance, time, speed, weight, and temperature. We visit the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to find out where common measurements come from and how standards for those measurements are set. Next, we'll go inside Stanley Tools where we'll see how they guarantee every measuring tape gives the right distance every time. And while we're measuring time, we'll learn why a $5 kid's watch is more accurate than a $10,000 luxury brand.
9-10pm -- WWII in HD - Darkness Falls
As Europe falls under Nazi control, America is unprepared for war and the attack on Pearl Harbor. The first bloody battles are fought on Guadalcanal and in North Africa.
10-11pm -- WWII in HD - Hard Way Back
The Allies take on the daunting forces of the Axis, with victory far from certain. Charles Scheffel battles Rommel's forces in Tunisia and Jack Werner faces bitter combat in the northern Pacific.

7-8pm -- MonsterQuest - Boneless Horror
Throughout history there have been sightings of a massive Octopus big enough to attack and sink boats. Could such a creature really exist? Our divers probe the depths of the North Pacific where the world's largest known species of octopus lives. Could these octopuses be a food source for a monster? The investigation will use various underwater camera systems, including a tiny camera small enough to probe inside octopus lairs. Deep waters, rough currents, freezing temperatures and the prospect of encountering a 20-ton boneless horror make this a dangerous expedition.
8-9pm -- MonsterQuest - Monster Sharks
Great white sharks are the ocean's deadliest killers and as they swim closer to our beaches, attacks against humans are on the rise. MonsterQuest leads an expedition to tag the first great white in the Atlantic and divers attach a camera to a live great white shark to examine why these monsters are becoming more aggressive predators. (1 hour version.)
9-10pm -- WWII in HD - Bloody Resolve
The Marines assault Tarawa in one of the bloodiest battles yet waged. MacArthur island-hops and Italy's front lines claim a casualty.
10-11pm -- WWII in HD - Battle Stations
The Allies lay plans for the invasion of France; Bert Stiles and the 8th Air Force attempt to clear the skies over Normandy, while the Pacific remains a quagmire. D-Day arrives.
