Automan

Automan ran for almost 4 months on ABC during the 1983-84 season. It starred Desi Arnaz Jr. as police computer expert Walter Nebicher (nickname Nebish), who accidentally created a computerized alter ego he dubbed Automan, a handsome square-jawed crimefighter (played by Chuck Wagner). They drove a computer-generated car capable of traveling at the speed of light, though it went somewhat slower than that to accommodate the human passenger (who still ends up smashed to one side by centrifical force when going around corners). Robert Lansing (of Star Trek episode "Assignment Earth" as Gary 7) costarred as Walter's friend, Lt. Jack Curtis. Lansing later played similar roles in "The Equalizer" and David Carradine's "New Kung Fu" tv series.
Automan made it's first appearance on the SciFi Channel in 2000 during a summer one-day marathon and fan reaction was such that he was brought back in September and November the same year:
