The Spell

Chapter 5

Micky and I walked out of the room.

"I can't believe what just happened," I said as I sat down at the table.

"Me neither" Micky replied.

"Hey, how long were you guys listening?" I said remembering they had been eavesdropping.

"Just after you told us to leave" Micky said looking at the floor.

"What did you mean this wasn't the real life?" Micky said trying to understand that comment.

"Well..." I said "This is just so nice, being here it's like better than real life" I said trying to make that statement make sense to him.

"Oh that's so nice," he said grabbing my hand and putting it in his.

We smiled at each other. I was so glad that Jesse hadn't talked us into leaving, well so far.

I just couldn't believe Jesse wanted to go home. This place was perfect, well almost; I couldn't stand there fighting.

"Jesse I need to talk to you" I said as I dragged her into our bedroom.

"What is your deal lately, I mean I know you like Davy but something else seems so be going on?" I said trying to figure her out.

"Yes, there is something" She said slowly "I think I like Micky."

I just stood there looking at her.

"Why?" I said knowing good and well why she liked Micky, I mean everybody likes Micky, just not in that way.

"He's so funny, sweet, and I know you like him and he really likes you, I still like him" Jesse said trying to make me feel better about what she has said. "I think I will feel better if you know, how I felt about him"

I sat on my bed and looked at the floor.

"So what now, I mean is this supposed to change our friendship, I mean you are one of my best friends" I said hoping that would make her forget about Micky.

"No, I don't want it to change us, I just wanted to get that off my chest" Jesse said looking at the open door.

"Oh Hi Micky" Jesse said turning red.

"Stop kidding" I said thinking that was just a joke.

Micky came in and sat next to me on the bed. I wondered how long he was standing at the doorway. It seems he listens at some of the worst moments.

"Micky come with me please," I said throwing a mean look at Jesse hoping we would never talk about that again.

Micky and I walked outside onto the beach. We took our shoes off and walked near the water.

"How much did you hear?" I asked while grabbing his hand and putting it around my waist.

"Well, I heard most of it" he said looking at me with those cute eyes.

"So what now, I mean she can't have you, you're mine forever" I said pushing the hair off my face.

We walked down the beach where no one was. He started playing with my hair while we walked.

We just walked in silence 'till we got to the end of the beach. He turned me around and looked into my eyes.

"You know you drive me crazy" he said, "I just can't stop thinking about you."

"Me neither," I said.

We started to walk back. I felt so happy. Tears started to roll down my face.

"Oh babe, what's wrong?" Micky said when he realized I was crying.

"Oh nothing" I said "I am just so happy, I have always wanted to love someone like you"

One tear rolled off my cheek and started to fall. Micky grabbed it.

"I don't ever want you to cry over me," he said while he wiped the tear on his lips.

We got back to the beach house. I couldn't find Jesse to say I was sorry for that mean look. I asked everyone if they knew where she was. Nobody knew. I knew that she was just being a friend when she told me she liked Micky. I knew I had hurt her feelings. I felt so bad. I let go of Micky's hand and ran out the front door. I just needed to be alone. I would have to check if she was back in the real world. I said the chant and found myself back at Amy's house. I walked to the room where everyone was. There was Jesse.

We saw each other. We ran to each other she gave me a hug.

"You are so sweet, I know how hard it is for you to leave" Jesse said forgetting everyone else had no idea what we were talking about.

"What are you guys talking about?" Laura Beth asked. I knew we shouldn't tell her. There were already too many people who knew.
