LSL 034 -upcoming release-LSL Studios/Local Hype- Local Raccous Compilation 1
The surefire way to experience local music at its finest. Beer fueled and Live. This disk captures them both. Featuring a host of artists from the summer of 2005, including the likes of; BreakNek, the Dead Alives, Thieves Cant, Internalize, Victim Zero, Behind Lies Ruin, Devilution, Theese Eyes that Bleed and others, this disk brings to light the sounds of the hardcore and punk, dimly lit underground. Recorded live in the spring of 2005, at St. Ladislaus this disk captures the feel of a bar show, with a lot cheaper alcohol. = more fun.
LSL 034 -upcoming release-LSL Studios: Live! From the basement. volume 1
Another fun filled cd of LSL Studio classics, captured in all of thier glory, raw and live. A full 74 minutes of rockin' LSL sound featuring the bands; the Prom Queens, Devilution, the Divining Rods, the Dead Alives, Oni Gossen, Kennedy Brain Matter, Catch Me if You Can, Cock Snot, and the Offbeats. The sound of the underground, captured 10 ft below the actual studio in the old LSL basement. This disk contains material that is ridiculus in nature as the crowd is always singing or chanting along. You know you couldn't help yourself, you were there too.
LSL 033 -09-14-05-the Cosmic Eye-self titled full length
Sit back with a few buds, and pass it to the left my friend. Enjoy. This mesmorizing trio will take you to a laid back land, where the kings of the cosmos play. Are we there yet? Take another hit, the jams are rolling over your senses, and before you know it you're out of your seat dancing, falling deeper into the infectious grooves that are The Cosmic Eye.
LSL 032 -09-10-05-the Bitters-self titled full length
Alot of bands try to imitate the origins of the punk rock sound, from other imitaters of the sound. It's another thing all together when the sounds are coming from some of the inovators themselves. This band formed from some of the early members of the Grand Rapids Punk Scene from the 80's brings the fuckin' rock. From straight up politics like Good Citizen to the mocking of the pop punk culture Ultra Bitter this band will never let up is clenched fist on the genre.
LSL 031 -09-10-05-eleMENT zer0-Don't Move, We'll Come to You
All together now, turn on your TV, close your eyes and listen. The feeling you are about to experience is not that much different from the pictures and visual pallets, that eleMENT zer0 paints. Subliminal waves stimulate the nerves as colors fire, and senses flow. This electronic experiment continues where thier previous endeavors left off, bringing more of the picture to light.
LSL 030 -05-28-05-Kennedy Brain Matter-self titled ep
What happens when the local music scene has died? Well for these guys from Coldwater, it did just that, and took them with it...... However, still needing to feed thier unsastionable desire for punk rock, this four piece rose from the graves, brains in mouth, and guitars in hand, to punch out the collective conscious of the still breathing flesh bags. Graveyard rock, with the chant along choruses, this group never dissappoints. This 6 song cd ep, is just the beginning of thier quest for blood, sex, and rock and roll.
LSL 029 -04-20-05-Rx TableTalk
The static that always surrounds us. The electric buzz, cell phone hum, AM, FM, UHF, cable, DSL, cd's , radio all and all. The masses function completely in this constantly charged environment, as this album moves between them, through them and with them. The subliminal electronic world brought to life, through the manipulation of sound.
LSL 028 -03-18-05-Devilution-self titled ep
The debut cd sampler from the one and only Devilution. This cd contains 3 blaringly loud metal tracks featuring the thundering drums, gut wrenching bass, furious guitars and howls from beyond, that typify the Devilution sound. Again, this is just the tip of hell, for the full length coming soon.
LSL 027 -10-31-04-Astetcine-Self Titled ep
The re-release from the group formally known as Halo. This nu-metal group has been performing thier melodic hard metal for the unsuspecting audiences for a few years now, finally releasing a new reincarnation of thier time tuned classics. This cd contains three of thier more popular songs and was inteneded as a teaser for thier debut album, to be released soon.
LSL 026 -06-18-04-Draggin Anchor's e.p. 2
The second e.p. by the Irish rock group, Draggin' Anchor's hits the shelf jammin'. Thier witty lyrics and crafty songs have only gotten better, in this follow up to thier last self titled e.p.
This will be the last e.p. before thier big Full length, so if you can't wait, this is the cd you'll need.
LSL 025 -05-05-04-La Vulgara self titled
Finally, after nearly 10 monthes in post production stasis, the muchly anticipated debut album from La Vulgara is finally out. Screaming guitars, and vocals drenched in echo and reverb slice through the 12 tracks of laser punk mayhem. The atmoshere of thier live shows is captured quite nicely, as many of their fans were present in the recording of this masterpiece.
LSL 024 PUT ON HOLD-??-??-??-Halo
Manson-esque Nu-metal screaming from the guitars and vocals, as lush pads and harmonies balance out the mix. A nu twist on the hardcore scene, more upbeat (faster, not necessarily cheerier) than others before it.
LSL 023 -03-18-04-Draggin' Anchor's -self titled ep
Finally something besides the psuedo heavy metal thats been plaguing our local music scene for too long. It's Draggin' Anchor's limited edition ep. The first batch lovingly spray painted and sanatized for your listening pleasure. This sextuplet kicks out the Irish rock jams and still manages to kill the whisky. Definitely music worth checking out.
LSL 022 -03-18-04-La Vulgara- I Go Bad single
The second single off of La Vulgara's ass kicking debut disk. This disk features the songs I Go Bad, Pretty Faces, (live) and the original keyboard version of Tonight (is the night). Released as a promo for the two day two city tour that La Vulgara, the Divining Rods, and Draggin' Anchor's embarked on. The original versions, sold out during these two days, yet we re-relased it from back order. If you got yourself one of the spray painted originals, consider yourselves lucky, and go rock out to it now.
LSL 021 -02-06-04-eleMENT zero- Less than / Greater than
The debut release of the eLeMENT zerO project. Various layers of shortwave radio, live clips, and analog synths, drench this crazily produced sonic free for all. Throughout this madness a strange chemistry kept it all together and intact. (maybe it was the drums, and sometimes lack-there-of)
LSL 020 re-RELEASE-02-06-04-LSL compilation vol. 2-Fridge Full of 40's party disk
The second official compilation from LSL. This is the live moving out party disk. It features 24 tracks by the bands La Vulgara, the Divining Rods, and Halo along with a tag team dj set with Big ol' Britches and Dj Zero. A must have for the local music scene, and a great closing disk for the last recorded material at LSL's 5015 address. Rough and raw, just like the fridge full of 40's party was. (note: this cd should be listened to while: skate boarding down the stairs, or jumping off your fridge onto mattresses, to recapture that special party feeling.)- peace
LSL 019 -08-31-03-La Vulgara-Tonight (is the Night)
The public demanded a La Vulgara disk, and so the public recieved one. (even though the initial release sold out in two days during back to back shows) we decided to rerelease it again, for all you cheap bastards who can't afford thier full length album. Or if you want some kick ass music and a pint yet only have five dollars. Featuring the title song you all know and love, plus 3 more special treats, two of which are unavailbale anywhere else. (just for all you music afficiendo's who drink something besides PBR or Old Style.)
LSL 018 re-RELEASE-02-14-04-Big ol' Britches-Tredecaphobia
Finally some electronic music that isn't produced on a groove box, or follows any specific genre. This is truley a ground breaking cd, and released in Grand Rapids, none the less. The constantly evolving textures and tinctures never loose your interest, even though you may loose your mind. Are you dreaming? No those are just your subconscious mind waves translated by your home stereo. (how is that possible?) you may find yourself asking, or was that your stereo just speaking to you.
LSL 017 re-RELEASE-02-14-04-Big ol' Britches-Lawrencium
The funky re-relase of the bouncy and entertaining debut from LMNt(now, Big ol' Britches, again). An up and down electronic album full of surprises, that never dissappoints. Another gem released in Grand Rapids, originating from the Hidden Corner of My Mind crew.
LSL 016 re-RELEASE-02-14-04-Big ol' Britches-Progress
A much more in depth follow up from Big ol' Britches, continuing where the Swirl album left off. The blend of house and progressive styles create an easliy listable electronic cd, that is free from so much of the nonsense that ruined alot of the electronic music in the recent years. Straight forward and peacefull. A mind relaxing cd.
LSL 015-09-11-03-Skizel-ton-NO WICKERS?NO MONIE$
The bands last album in the limited edition: Sparkle and Guest's trilligy. This is possibly the best one yet as it's just Sparkle Sparntz, and Fuzzy Sparntz, using Monies, and Wickers equipment, and no wickers or monies to be found.
Its rockin' old school with lots of guitars and sound effects. And rightfully so, this being the last sparkle and friends album, contains many lil sparntz's that have never before appeared on Skizel-aton releases. A suitable wrap up to the most controversial Skizel-aton album to date.

The
Mr. DanYell Reed, P.A. Trick Wieland and Atom Cavanaugh, make up the core of the band; I Don't Know Man? The three take turns playing guitar, bass, and drumming over DanYell's silky smooth funkadelic voice. The cd sounds psychadelic at times, and punk rockin' at others. It's truly a stoner listening experience.
What else could Skullaton do? Having just finished two new albums, why not make a another? And yes, this is it, the fourth total
Skiz-ell-a-tuhn release to date: The Worst CD Ever. This album, (like Sparkle Pizza) doesn't follow the GBWM storyline either, but instead gives you two days worth of old grand-dad, and mc masters as they boldly create the worst cd ever. (NOTE: this cd requires an active imagination.)
The first of a ?possible? three part limited edition release from
skellatuhn. This cd, Sparkle Pizza, was written and recorded in a motel 6 soley by Sparkle Sparntz and the Wicker Basket in the entirety of about five hours. This earns Sparkle Pizza, the golden Jawbone awrd for fastest skellatuhn cd recorded. "It sounds like I'm trippin on Ether" -random partygoer at Fantastic Dizzy's moving out party.
After changing the name of the release from Is it Art? to God Is Gay we finally wrapped up this performance art project. This begins AquaSkull's musical journey as the characters try to make there way through a anti-gay/ pro-god society. "Funny yet controversial, this cd is so ultra sophisticated that you probally wouldn't get it anyway." - professor McMillin
After a long summer of hard recording/partying and living the
SparntZ lifestyle, the 2nd installment of the GingerBread WulfMan story is completed. Just like the 1st disk, this
sk3llaton cd contains another hand drawn and colored GBWM comic. While the first cd may be a sonic adventure, this one is more for getting the party started. (sumpin' bumpin') No party is a party unless it's a Sparntz party, and no party is a Spiz-ArntZ party without such hits as: Raise the Dead, Aunt Debbies Camal Toe, Blinkety Blanket, Top Shop Hop, and the fully blunted classic; Voodoo Rasta Zion Lion. This and ten more songs can be found on this skellaton masterpiece: "Everyone Loves Zombies"
This CD is a beautiful floral arrangement in the trashcan wasteland of your brain. We hope you bring Bert & Ernie along for the ride & hire Sherlock Holmes to solve the mystery. We love you and we want you to name your first born "Echo" and "Knock". This cd contains 17 various performances of their ever changing set Live and in the studio.
The long anticipated release of skelatunOriginally recorded late 2001 early 2002. It is the first chapter of the Gingerbread Wulfman saga. This cd contains the 12 page comic GBWM part 1 "secret of the sparntz" (the first 50 individually colored in crayon)This 1st of a three part trilogy contains the hits, grandpas pills, and the GBWM theme, along with 7 more f@*ck-d up songs.
The latest recorded installment in the 373 legacy. Originally recorded in the fall of 2000, it finally sees the light of day. This is a bridge between the emerging styles of the 373 project. More in depth programing and a warmer overall atmosphere allow it to invade the daydreaming mind easily. Another breahthrough in early progressive programing.
Bringing the funky mellow tunes. You can't relax to it, it 'gots to much flava! This is the LSL debut of the Big ol Britches. You can check him out in many different electronic projects as LMNT, Men of Earth, E*Unit and Dj Unknown.
The second LSL compilation.Full Frontal exposes the early works of Sub.Tech. and 373 (as nimbus), and both of them together under the name slo.children. This comp. also exposes some of our friends and other LSL artists. First being up and comer LMnt (weird, funky house).Next
the man known as Big 'ol Britches (ambient/trance). Then a collaboration of the Britches with 373, known as E*Unit (progressive). and lastly Radiofon, a nice little funky piece done solely on a playstation. 12 tracks featuring the early sounds of LSL. And a great mixture of electronic music before the scene was over run with "Groove box" garbage.
Early works of 373.Recorded originally under the name nimbus. Suited for minimalistic, laid back traveling into your mind. Early minimal progressive style sequencing using a miniscule amount of equipment, this was GR's answer to Detroit's early minimal sound. A breakthrough performance by the man known as nimbus.
The debut release of Sub.Tech.Originally recorded late '99 early 2000. It is noise electronics, the new style.17 loud and fast barrages from the West Michigan front. This cd is a fusion of early drum and bass, and samples of punk and political commentary. The way industrial music was going. This is the begining of Glytch's sonic assault into the lawless digital underground. If you like your tracks sounding like a mechanical failure, pick this one up.
The very first release from the LSL crew. With live tracks recorded and mixed at Null Studios, and later at the Livingston Flat on lookout hill. It was time to bring everything together as LSL.
Features many early Sub.Tech, and Null Set tracks. This was unsequenced raw electronics and tape based samples.
The first cd production of nimbus, and the britches. It,s a mixture of minimal trance with a bit of house spices. Sit back and enjoy this early electronic adventure.Mixed and produced at Hiden Corner of my Mind studios
Recorded back in the day, with help from the Rat Tail Records crew out of Norhview Highschool. This is the first official release of NullSet.Featuring nimbus and Sub.Tech under the monikers Sp0re and Box. It contains noisy electronics provided by some toy keyboards, and karoke machines as samplers. Vocals by Annyahs, and instrumentation by the High Ons.Early Early old school, thats all i have to say.
