Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, nuts and vanilla. Beat well.
Sift flour, cinnamon and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Roll out onto floured working surface and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cool and decorate with colored icings and candies.
