(AN: Hope you like the second part! -_-)
She walked down the sidewalk and to the park. She picked a couple of red roses and held them up to her nose. Inhaling the sweet scent she caught site of a path she never saw before. It was covered by weeds and was only partially visible. She walked towards the path and broke branches, pushed back bushes, and tripped over hidden roots. When she was far enough in she saw the weeds were cleared so there was enough room to walk. She followed the path through the eerie vacant forest. The trees covered the path like a roof. Keeping the moon from showing the brave soul that dare enter to the end of their journey. Finally she saw a light. Cautiously she made her way toward it. Making sure she didn’t make a noise. When she was close enough to see where the light was sneaking through She hide under the brush and slowly crawled closer. She was not prepared to see what lay before her. It was a grave - yard with an old picket fence that encircled the graves. It was partially falling down. The paint was chipping and it no longer looked white. She edged closer and saw a form sitting next to two grave - stones. When she looked close she saw that the figure had black hair. Her hand moved forward and when she put her weight on it a twig snapped. She stood still as the figure looked her way. She gasped silently as she saw it was Darien. When he turned back to the grave- stones she strained to hear what he was saying.
“Well, mom, dad. Everything here is ok. You’d be proud of me. After all those lonely years I’ve found someone who could help me. I’m sure you would like her if you met her.”
He started to chuckle lightly.
“Everyone seems to like her. I don’t know if I’m good enough for her though. I’m just happy every time she is near me. She has long golden hair. She puts it up in these buns on top of her hair. I call her Meatball Head. But, you already know all about her. I think I’m in love with her. I want to tell her, but I’m afraid she doesn’t feel the same way. I couldn’t take it if she hated me. Just, please. Watch over her. Make sure she doesn’t get hurt. Good Bye mom, dad, I love you.”
He got up blew a kiss at the grave- stones turned off the lantern and walked down the path. When Serena was sure he was gone she twisted and pulled her way out of the brush. She kneeled down and turned on the lantern. She sat in between the grave- stones. She placed the roses on both stones and leaned back.
“Mr. and Mrs. Chiba. I believe you already know all about me. Sadly I know nothing of you. I promise I will take care of your son. I just want to thank you for giving birth to such a man.”
She placed her finger- tips to her lips and kissed them. She then placed them on the grave- stones. She got up and walked down the path to her home.
Serena turned over on her bed as the sunlight made its way through her curtains and on to her face. She had a rude awakening though when her little broth ran into her room and jumped on her bed. Serena was sent flying to the floor covers and all. She sat upright and glared at her brother. He smiled at her.
“Sorry Serena. You asked me to wake you up.”
“I asked you to wake me up not push me off my bed.”
“Sorry.”
She smiled at her brother and pounced and him giving him a noogie. (AN: Sure wish I had a brother to do that to. : D ) )
They wrestled for a while then sat on her bed.
“Serena why do you want to wake up so early? I thought you would want to sleep in all afternoon?”
Serena smiled sheepishly.
“That’s for me to know and you to find out!” (AN: Come on. Who has parents that have said this?)
“Awwww come on Serena! I won’t tell. Honest!”
“Sorry Sammy you’re going to have to wait!”
Serena got off her bed and ran into the shower. She rushed back into her bedroom and got dress. She grabbed her bag and ran down stairs. She sat at the table and ate her breakfast and medium speed. When she was done she washed her dishes and ran out the door. She wanted to get to the theater early. She rounded the corner and tripped over a cord. Waiting for impact she closed her eyes and held out her arms. When it never came she opened one eye then the other. She was then aware of two strong arms rapped around her waist. The arms helped her stand back up and steady herself. She already knew who it was. Cheeks filling red she looked down embarrassed.
“Thank you Darien.”
“Think nothing of it Meatball Head.”
She glared at him. Her insults caught in her throat. He had a mischievous smile on his face.
* Wow. Does he always look this gorgeous? No wonder that girl is mad at me. *
“You know what Darien? I’m not even going to argue with you. If you want you can walk with me to the theater. As long as you don’t call me Meatball Head!”
She walked past him and continued toward her destination. Darien just stood there. A big goofy smile pressed against his lips. He jogged after her.
“Slow down Mea… Serena. Why are you going to the Theater so early?”
“I want to look around some more.”
“Look around some more?”
“I like looking at the theater. It’s so old. A piece of History if you will. I like looking at the architecture. The way it was designed. I especially…..”
She was interrupted by the sound of soft laughter. She turned her head side-ways and looked at Darien. Her anger obviously rising.
“What is so funny?”
“I never thought I’d see the day you were interested in History.”
She stopped in her tracks and looked directly into Darien’s eyes. Which was a mistake because she got lost in them totally. She regained her composer and held her finger in his face.
“Listen Mister! I may not get the best grades in the world and may have klutz attacks, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know anything about History! And for your information I have been getting better grades.”
She finished while folding her arms and putting on a triumphant smile. Darien couldn’t help it. He burst into fits of laughter. Surprised Serena just stared at him. She had never seen him so, so ... Happy. An idea caught her attention. A smile crept to her lips. She flung herself into his arms and they both fell. She was on top of him smiling at his very shocked face. She had him pinned.
“Laugh at me will you!”
She placed her fingers at his side and started to tickle him. She could tell he was trying to hold it in, but soon he caved in. His deep giggles echoed through the empty theater.
“Stop! (Giggle, giggle) Stop! I give I give!”
She stopped tickling him and got off of him. They sat next to each other out of breath. (AN: Sorry! I had to make him ticklish! ~_, ~)
“I’m sorry I laughed at you. I didn’t mean it as making fun of you. It’s just you sounded so not like you.”
“It’s ok. All is forgiven. Would you like to practice our lines?”
Darien shrugged his shoulders.
“Fine with me. Which part would you like to start with?”
Serena thought for a moment.
“The last scene. It’s so romantic and so very tragic. Don’t you think?”
ROMEO: “O my love, my wife, Death that hath sucked the honey of thy breath, hath no power yet upon thy beauty, thou art not conquered. Beauty's ensign yet is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, and death's pale flag is not advanced there. Ah, dear Juliet, why art thou yet so fair? Shall I believe that unsubstantial death is amorous and keeps thee here in the dark to be his paramour? For fear of that I still will stay thee. Here, oh, here will I set up my everlasting rest, and shake the yoke of inauspicious stars from this world-wearied flesh. Eyes look your last, arms take your last embrace, and lips, O you the doors to breathe, seal with a righteous kiss. A dateless bargain, to engrossing death.”
Darien walked over to where Serena was lying. He sat on the bench and took out a pretend vile. He brought it to his lips and drank it. He fell on to the bench. Soon Serena stirred.
JULIET: “Romeo. What's here? Poison. Drunk all, and left no friendly drop to help me after. I will kiss thy lips.”
Serena stopped and stared at him.
* Do I really want to kiss him? It’s just acting right? It doesn’t mean a thing? *
She turned her head away and looked at the set. She felt a hand on her wrist.
“Serena it’s still your line.”
“I know.”
“What’s wrong?”
“I… It’s…”
She looked away embarrassed.
“I’m kinda not really comfortable with… With the a…”
Darien smiled and Serena heard him chuckle.
“You’re worried over the kiss.”
He saw her face flush red.
“Well, ya. Aren’t you?”
“Is there a reason I should be? Stage kisses don’t matter. They’re there to make the actors seem more realistic.”
“Well, that’s not it. That is it it’s just. I’veneverkissedaboylikethat.”
She said it in a rush of breath. Fortunately for Darien he caught every last bit of it. He smiled even bigger and Serena’s blush grew more furious.
“Well, then you have to practice.”
Serena looked at Darien shocked.
“But, with who?”
Darien shrugged his shoulders.
“With anybody. Anyone who you trust. Even your boyfriend…”
He didn’t even finish. Serena’s arms circled his neck and she pulled him into a kiss. Darien was so shocked to say the least. After a few seconds they broke the kiss. Darien looked at her.
