Controversy and Baseball

Right about now I am gonna speak my mind about a few "controversial" issues. From Pete Rose to Shoeless Joe and from Barry Bonds to Sammy Sosa, controversy is a word you often hear in talks about these men.

Alot of noise is being made about the recent admission from Pete Rose about this gambling issues. For over 10 years Pete Rose lied to the public saying "I never bet on Baseball". Well, he lied and now I think he will actually know what it feels like to be the liar. As of late everyone is focusing in on whether or not Rose should be in the hall of fame and furthermore whether or not he should be around Major League Baseball period. I have been silent on this issue til now but to be honest, I am tired of all the press this is getting.

To be honest, I knew about Pete Rose lying the entire time, I mean..I am GOD! I always hoped that he would reconcile with himself and come clean. However, the only reason he came clean was to be in Baseball. For that I think that Pete Rose is an asshole. However, it doesn't change the facts about his career. This man has the most hits ever...by anyone, SERIOUSLY! That alone warrants the chance to be in the Hall. I can understand why he was banned and all, but we shouldn't keep him from the Hall of Fame. I say induct him into the Hall of Fame then banish him for life (again) from Baseball. He belongs in the hall, but not on the field.

This brings up Shoeless Joe Jackson. The talent this man had was unrivaled for many years and he was one of the purest hitters in history. His numbers also warrant him to be in the hall. However, there is one thing he did that Pete Rose didn't and that was fix a game. Now Rose did gamble but he never fixed the game so he could win money. I know this because I am god and I know all. Shoeless got money for throwing a game during his playing career thus I agree that his banishment from Baseball is just.

Next we have Barry Bonds. Now, I am very good friends with Bonds as I have said in the past. There is one thing however that doesn't strike me as Bonds-like. That being his decision to unlicense his name from the MLBPA. What I am talking about? Well, if you have ever played Madden Football you will notice that there is someone that isn't in the game. That being Lavar Arrington. When you unlicense your name you don't allow video games and other organizations to use your name and likeness. So in plain english when you play any new baseball games Bonds won't be in the game. Rather you will see his jersey number. This to me is a hit to the fans who have given their support to Bonds through out his career. Barry, you are a good player and a good guy but seriously, cut this "game" out and just play the damn game.

Wow, now I feel better. So now we move onto Sammy Sosa. Short and sweet, HE USED A CORKED BAT. HE SERVED HIS SENTENCE AND IT'S DONE. LET IT GO! Or I will be visiting you very soon...AS I SEND YOU TO HELL!
