Women in the novel "The Great Gatsby"
In this novel "The Great Gatsby", by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The women are treated like objects. Women in this book are being cheated on by their husbands. For example, Daisy's husband, Tom is seeing someone else (Myrtle), although he is married to Daisy. This shows that Women are vulnerable. The part that makes Daisy look bad is that she won't dump Tom because of his status. This shows the readers that women doens't have a lot of status without their husband. We can see that Women in the play are treated like objects. For example, the argument between Gatsby and Tom, referred Daisy as a "her" or "she" , not referring to her as "Daisy". This is very degrading. Because Daisy refers to them by their name, but they don't seem to care but keep on referring to her as a figure.
