Tammy Sytch
Tammy was born on December 7, 1972 and grew up in the town of Matawan, NJ. She attended high
school at Cedar Ridge High School, in Old Bridge from 1986-1990. Tammy took part in many school activities during
High School , by taking part in the Yearbook, Prom Commitee , Pom Squad and Captain of the Cheerleading team.
Tammy graduated in 1990 and took classes at Monmouth College.
Tammy started her wrestling career in the Spring of 1993 at Smokey Mountain Wrestling (SMW), in east Tennessee.
She made her debut there as Tammy Fytch, suing SMW for sexual discrimination against woman for never employing
a woman in a high position. She decided to attend Smoky Mountain Wrestling as a manager and then working her
way up to the top by being promoted. Tammy first managed "Prime Time" Brian Lee leading him to the SMW
Championship Gold. Then in January, 1994 Tammy started managing Chris Candido. After Lee lost the SMW
Championship in February, Tammy teamed Candido up with Brian Lee. In April, Tammy led Candido and Lee to
the SMW Tag Team titles. In August, after they had won and lost and then losing their titles again in just a matter of
days, Tammy fired Brian Lee. In November 18, 1994, Tammy led Candido to the NWA World Heavyweight
Championship in Cherry Hill, NJ. In early December (Tammy had wrestle a little in SMW) Tammy suffered a severe
injury in the arm, lucky she only had a few minor injuries.
The WWF called Tammy and Candido in late 1994 offering them a contract. Tammy started off in WWF doing the
"Live Event News" segments, as "Tamara Murphy." This only lasted a few weeks because the WWF had better plans
for Tammy and Candido. Tammy and Chris left SMW after Candido lost a "loser must leave match" in early 1995.
Losing the NWA title to in February, Chris and Tammy were free to join the WWF
In early 1995 the Bodydonna's. were born. Thats when Chris Candido became known as "Skip" and Tammy became
Sunny. Sunny managed both the Bodydonna's and the Smoking Guns to the Tag team titles. Sunny career later took
off, leaving Skip and everyone else behind, becoming one of the biggest sex symbols ever. Chris Candido (her
husband) left for ECW and became one of their hot stars. Back in the WWF Sunny managed Farooq & also the new
LOD (actually it was the same LOD) but then this when all the kaos in her life began.
It was rumored that her fame and fortune were beginning to go to her head
and that she was becoming intolerable to work with.
Apparently her difficulty to play well with others as
well as missing several appearances and house shows
finally led to her being fired from the WWF in 1998.
It's interesting that after Tammy was dismissed that
she had nothing but negative, nasty, and petty remarks
to make about the organization, wrestlers, and other
women that she at one time worked closely with. Time
after time in interviews
she took the
opportunity to belittle everyone that had to do with the WWF. It really did sound like
a women who was jealous and vindictive and it did not become someone who was
supposed to be a professional. After several months she appeared in the ECW and it
seemed like she was back in stride as a valet to her fiancée - wrestler Chris Candido.
In 1998 Sunny joined ECW under her real name Tammy Sytch and managed Chris Candido in the Triple Threat.
Chris & Tammy feuded with Lance Storm & Dawn Marie (who called herself Tammy Lynn Bytch). In early 1999
the Triple Threat broke up and Chris and Tammy got embroiled in a feud with Shane Douglas and Francine. For a
good part of 1999, Tammy and Chris had to take time off for personal business. But in October of 99, Tammy
returned to renew her feud with Dawn Marie. Dawn Marie even joined forces with Angelica to beat on Tammy in the
infamous spanking incident.
Soon after, things started turning for the worse once again as she began fighting her personal
demons. Due to personal problems, Tammy & her husband Chris were released from ECW. There was talk of her joining up
with WCW but until then she made a few appearances in XPW including a short catfight with Lizzy Borden.
Eventually, it is
official, barring some drug tests turning up positive Tammy joined WCW. Tammy debuted at Spring Stampede helping Chris capture the WCW Cruiserweight Title and
and thus beginning a feud with The Artist & Paisley.
Things were going great in WCW for Tammy, but then it happened again. More and more problems for Tammy. You just knew this was bound to happen.
Before the Memorial Day Nitro, Tammy Lynn Sytch was found passed out by the arena workers washroom. It is speculated she
injected herself with Nubane. Nubane is a common drug used during childbirth. It acts as a painkiller. This is
why the Tammy Lynn Sytch vs.Miss Hancock match never took place. Rumors have it that WCW released
Tammy, but it had not confirmed.
Although it was reported earlier that Tammy Sytch was released from WCW, this is had to be official. She was
held back from television last night due to the fact that she appeared sick in some way. WCW did test her for
drugs, but the results have yet to be released. Although it seemed obvious that she was on some kind of
narcotics, WCW is giving her a chance. Odds are that she will be released if it is drugs, but possibly not. If she
is not released, a suspension would've been likely.
"In July, it was reported that Tammy Sytch and Chris Candido were gone from WCW. I can't stand seeing all the contradictions to this
statement, as I'm completely CORRECT about it. Her so-called "official newsletter" and "website" aren't even
endorsed by WCW; and possibly not even Tammy or Chris. While they keep saying that I'm wrong, they should
really take a listen to "WCW: Live" every now and then, because on numerous occasions, they've said the
same thing, as well. I've got nothing against Tammy and Chris, as they're two of my favorite husband-and-wife
duo's to watch in this business, it's just that there's so many rumors flying over their hands you never know
what to believe. Who if and when this duo comes back, but it certainly won't be for a while." (Mikey G)
