The
Hampton
Blackbeard
Festival 2001 -
Hampton, VA
This was an *Excellent* event! Lots of fun, it was very well organized,
and had lots of perks for the re-enactor!
I sure hope they do it again next year, 'cause if they do....i'm there,
baby!
Pirate Camp at the Event
(hey, what's that in that guys hand on the right??)
Another view of the pirate camp
View from camp looking out over the water....one word....gorgeous!
Scott and Yvonne relaxing at camp, check out those socks!
Pirates and Prom Dates
Charity and Lads literally "hanging out" at camp
(mom, don't look!)
Cutlass training on the water
Pirate Booty!
Singing at the Grapes of Wrath Tavern
Maters Glass and Steel lead us in a round of "What do you do with a
drunken sailor"
('course, i have my OWN ideas on that one!)
more fun and singing...and drinking, and joking....well, you get the idea!
The rules are given, the seconds have been chosen...and yes, taunts are being thrown right and left!
Master Steel looks on confidently as his second, shows no fear!
back, to back...they start the count
Counting off the paces
the Clash!
the strike!
the fateful blow??
Captain Merrick and a friend
i guess, that would be a very *good* friend!
Pirate Wench Pat and cute pirate pup!
swordplay back at camp at dusk (that's why resolution is so bad)
more sword play....check out that hat and those stockings...o la, la! Master Paul is in fine fettle!
Ahh the smell of sulfer in the afternoon!
Blackbeard's head and his flag
the captured flag
granted, they are a motley crew....but i like 'em fine!
the Jazz Band that provided the lively tunes
Oooh my gorgeous room overlooking the harbour and located right smack
dab at the event...and had a swiming pool and hot tub...
gee ....could it get any better?
i think not!
