He used to be a typical Saiyan warrior, wiping out civilliations and getting planet's ready for sale, until he was hit with a strange attack that allowed him to see into the future. Using this foresight, he discovered Frieza's plot to betray the Saiyans and he attempted to stop him. Bardock was a valiant fighter, but his power wasn't great enough to rival that of Frieza's and he was defeated right before Frieza destroyed planet Vegeta. With his dying breath, he told his son that he must be the one to defeat Frieza, so that the tyrannt would fall at the hands of a Saiyan, as he had always feared. Brolli Brolli is the original Super Saiyan. Ever since he was a child, he possessed an extraordinary amount of power, a power so great that it kept him and his father alive when planet Vegeta was destroyed. While he was a youngster, Brolli was tramautized by the crying of his crib mate, a young Saiyan named Goku, and developed an intense hatred for him deep in his subconcious. Many years later, Brolli's father instructs him to go on a mad rampage across the universe. In order to keep anyone from discovering his plot, Brolli's father employs the Z Warriors to find out what is causing this destruction and stop it. However, when Brolli sees Goku, his hatred stirs up inside of him and he blows his cover. A huge battle ensues and Brolli is defeated and left for dead. However, his rivalry with Goku leads him back to Earth a second time. He is beaten again and killed, but he appears a third time when a clone of him is created. Gohan Gohan is Goku's son. He is named after Goku's grandfather. At the beginning of DBZ, Gohan is just a boy, but during the course of Dragonball Z and GT, he grows up into a full-fledged warrior. Gohan is half-Saiyan and he was born with a tail, just like his dad, allowing him to transform under a full moon. Gohan is born with a tremendous amount of power, but he is unable to control it at first and he can only use it when he becomes extremely angry. Because of the Saiyan blood running through his veins, Gohan loves to fight and he is an excellent fighter, but his mom, Chi-Chi, makes him spend every waking moment studying. Gohan is a lot like his father in personality; understanding of others, but devastating in battle. Eventually he meets and marries Videl, who also becomes a fighter. Early on in DBZ, Piccolo takes it upon himself to train the young Gohan. Gohan is the first person ever to train under Piccolo and they are akward around each other at first, but they soon gain a unique respect for each other and form an unbreakable bond. Goku Goku is the main character in Dragonball Z, although Gohan sort of takes over for him after he dies for a second time part way through the series. Goku is a great warrior and eventually becomes the most powerful man on Earth, but he is also a great person and he never values his life more than that of any other living thing. He is caring and compassionate, but at the same time he is a rock solid fighter. Although Goku doesn't realize it until his borther Raditz comes to Earth, he is actually a member of the almost extinct Saiyan race. He was sent to Earth as a child with instructions to prepare it for Saiyan takeover engrained in his mind. He was found and adopted by his "grandfather" the original Gohan. Goku was a wild and uncontrollable child until he bumped his head one day and forgot his orders. From that day on he became a normal boy. Normal except for two things: his tail, a Saiyan trade mark, and his remarkable strength and fighting skill. After accidentally running into Bulma in the first episode of Dragonball, he becomes wrapped up in the search for the mystic Dragonballs. Goten Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi Chi. He is born while Goku is in heaven, so he is even a little scared of his dad when they first meet. He is very powerful, like his father, as he is also half Saiyan. He first goes Super Saiyan at the age of 7, becoming the youngest person ever to do so. He is far stronger than either his dad or his older brother, Gohan, were at his age. Goten is good friends with Trunks, since both of them are about the same age (Trunks is one year older). Trunks is the more powerful of the two, since he is older. Goten and Trunks fuse together to form Gotenks, argueably one of the strongest characters in the Dragonball world. Towards the end of the series, Goten becomes really lazy, so he doesn't develop his fighting skills to their full potential. Vegeta Vegeta is son of King Vegeta, which makes him prince of all Saiya-jin. He originally came to Earth with his friend Nappa with plans to conquer the Earth. He was stopped by Goku, and during the fight, Vegeta killed Nappa, for failing to do what he told him. Afterwards he turrned into an Oozaru, but he never got to reach Super Saiya-jin yet, because his tail was cut off by Yajirobe. Vegeta always thought that he would reach Super Saiyan level because he is royalty. Instead of him reaching SSJ first, it was Goku, and that made Vegeta extremely mad. Vegeta then became obsessed with reaching SSJ, but he did not. Later on, he realized that Future Trunks had also reached SSJ, so he knew that he could do it to, which made him train even harder, and still to no success. He became really angry due to the fact that he couldn't reach SSJ, and his anger was what finally enabled him to become a Super Saiyan. Later on, Bulma invites Vegeta to go live with her at the Capsule Corp., so he went. While he was there he trained in the Gravity Room that Dr. Briefs had made in hopes of becoming stronger than Goku.Later on Vegeta managed to win over Bulma from Yamcha and they had a son (Trunks). Bulma had to raise Trunks basically by herself because Vegeta was always so busy training. Trunks Trunks is Vegeta and Bulma's first born. Since he is Vegeta's son, he is half Saiyan and half human. Trunks was mostly raised by his mother, Bulma, since his father was always too busy training. Baby Trunks met his future self (Future Trunks) as a baby, and would not remember that time, because of his age. As trunks grew up, he became best friends with Goku's son, Goten, who was almost equal to Trunks in strength.
