I am a virgin male. I have never done anything with a girl
sexually. But I have a bunch of bumps on my penis. IS THIS HPV?
No, this isn't HPV. I've gotten this
question many times now, which is why I put it up here. Guys, if you're a
virgin - and I mean virgin as in virgin virgin, so never really done
anything with a girl - and you have these little bumps, then there's
nothing to worry about. I recall someone asking a professional this online,
and the doctor simply said it was something called "ectopic sebaceous
glands", or it could also be "penis papules."
HPV shows up in one of two ways: warts or dysplasia. Warts may look like
little skin tags at first, and dysplasia is a bad pap smear.
Is HPV the same as genital warts? If I have HPV, will I always get
genital warts?
No to both questions. HPV stands for Human Papillomavirus, the virus that
causes warts all over the body, not just on the genitals. There are over 70
strains, and around 30 of them infect the genital area. Of these 30
strains, there are two subcategories: genital warts or dysplasia
(abnormal cells). If you have warts on the outside, then you have a kind of
HPV that causes warts, not dysplasia. If you have dysplasia (this is an
abnormal pap smear), then you have a kind that causes abnormal cells, not
warts. HOWEVER, it is possible to get more than one kind. If you have both
an abnormal pap smear and warts, then it means you have two or more strains
of the virus in your body. There is only one exception to this rule, and
that is if there are warts on your cervix and they are causing you to have
an abnormal pap smear. This would be genital warts only.
Can you have genital warts without having HPV?
No. Genital warts ALWAYS mean you have the HPV virus in your body.
I got an abnormal pap smear. Does this mean I will get warts, or worse,
cancer?

The pictures of HPV I have seen on the net look NOTHING like my little
thing. Are all cases that severe?
Hell no. Most cases are just like yours. I think they like to take the most
severe cases and display them, to scare people. In my opinion, most pictures
on the web are of AIDS patients, because it's way more rampant in them.
HPV, in most patients who have warts, just looks like a skin tag or two.
I had this little bump on my genitals, just this one little bump. My doctor
burnt/froze it off and told me not to worry about it. Is this HPV?
Yes, this is HPV! I'd like to start by mentioning that your doctor is an *ass*,
because this is an STD and he’s not informing you about it. For some
reason, a lot of the medical profession doesn’t like to tell people that
HPV is indeed an incurable STD, they just say "it’s nothing" and
"everyone has this, so don’t bother telling your partners." Also,
even though 75-80% of the population has this, there is still that 20% of
people who aren't infected and we should be nice to them. I mean, how would
you like it if you were a clean virgin and someone with HPV had sex with
you, but didn’t bother telling you about it because they thought it didn’t
matter?
