Our Update
WE'RE HOME!

Hello Everyone!

We know that most of you have probably given up on receiving another update but miracles do happen. Alyse is, of course, the biggest miracle that has happened in our lives recently. The trip home was just that - "a trip". Alyse did quite well during the long flights but Heather and I were too excited about getting back home to allow ourselves to sleep.

Arriving at the airport, we were greeted by a huge crowd of our family and friends. The emotion of the greetings from all the well-wishers was very overwhelming. Our long journey was over, but our new life with Alyse was just beginning.

Wesley and Christopher with the Princess

Dedication Day in November

Now, here it is seven months after that memorable day and it's hard to imagine life without our beautiful little daughter. She captures your heart with her smile and Engli-Chinese jabbering. She is seldom at a loss for words and some day we hope to understand what she is trying so eloquently to tell us.

Taking a little ride in my new swing

Our family seems so much more complete with her in our home. Her brothers and sister all adore her. Christopher and Preston are extremely helpful in taking care of her. "The Princess" almost never suffers from a lack of attention.

Gettin' a little love from bro!!

Just a note from my heart to those of you who are trying to decide if adoption is right for you. You are probably wrestling with many concerns. How can we afford it? Who will watch our other children? Will I be able to get the time off from work? Is our house and budget big enough for another child? The only real questions you need to answer is, "Is my God big enough to make this work and has He told me to adopt?" If He has told you to adopt then let me answer the other part. He is definitely big enough to make it work. We are living examples of His ability. This is not a Jenkins original but I definitely believe it is true... "If it's God's will, then it is God's bill." If He has told you to do something, He will make a way. All we have to do is just obey. Remember this definition when you question your faith in God. Faith is obedience in action. Just do what He has said and let Him worry about all the other minor details.

Waiting for Santa
with Preston and Christopher

We look forward to hearing about all the great and wonderful things God is and is going to do in all your lives.

Until we meet again,

Love always,
Heather, Doug, Devery, Kayla, Wesley, Preston, Christopher and the Princess (aka Alyse)
