Hello Everyone,
Today we visited the shopping mall and the Super Wal-Mart again. We went without our group. Therefore, we were all stared at for most of the time we were out. Most people gravitate towards Katie. They pull at her and pick her up. She takes it like a rag doll. Kind of scary for Mommy, though. We ate lunch at a KFC and while we were there six members of the Red Army marched in. They all crowded closely around us. Luckily, our guide made us a sign. I am not sure everything it says, but it says something like "I love Chinese babies, I came to get one to take back to America where I will love her forever." Whatever it says it seemed to make the General guy happy and he laughed and pulled on Katie and Jaelin. Would have taken a picture for you all, but I was too afraid to take one!!
Katie and I took a trip down to the tanks on the 3rd floor of the hotel. MMMMMM yummy! Frogs and shrimp swimming around. All kinds of fish looked back at us and some huge oysters. Really big.
Jonathan is still the hit with all the babies. He can make them laugh and smile. For dinner we went to a restaurant where we sat by a big window. It felt like a fish bowl because gobs of Chinese people came to the window to look at us while we ate.
Jaelin learns more and more everyday. Her stomach is a bottomless pit and I don't know where it all goes, but I think she must weigh a good two pounds more. The scales say 18 pounds right now. She is grabbing for food more now and learning to feed herself. She had her first ride in a taxi today. She is very animated. It is such an unusual thing in the morning to wake up and see her little black eyes staring at me through her crib bars. She is really such a joy. I know you are all going to love her to death when you see her. She seems to get pretty nervous when we get in a room full of lots of other Chinese Babies and I wonder if she was picked on a little. She always wants to have a piece of cloth to hold next to her face when she gets insecure or sleepy.
Today, a Chinese woman made a popping sound with her mouth and then Jaelin blew her a kiss. She is saying some words, but I don't know what they mean. When we get home maybe Ruitong can give us a hand.
