We are off!!! We went to chapel this morning and had a very nice send-off with a nice prayer from Chaplain Nelson. The kids went to half a day of school. They are doing great. The flight to Houston and then to Newark were great, too!
Sorry can't get pictures to load up. We are getting ready to hit the 15 hour flight to Bejing. We had a nice night at the Hilton Newark. Talk to you soon!!!!
Hello everybody! Well, we are definitely not in Lubbock anymore. The flight turned out not to be anything as bad as I thought it would be, although I did not sleep a wink. The kids went to sleep as soon as it was dark and woke up again just before daylight only two hours later. Needless to say they are sleeping right now. Beijing is such a big city. Ruitong Shi, our exhcange student, had her mother and kind friend meet us at the airport. We went to our hotel to check into our suite which turned out to have 5 rooms and two bathrooms. The kids loved it. We then went to downtown Beijing for dinner. Joe had his first and probably last taste of Duck Foot. I am not sure what else we ate tonight, and I am not sure I want to know. Ruitong's mother presented us with some wonderful gifts. We really miss Kendrick and Chandler and wish they were here. We are off to the Great Wall tomorrow.
