Wan Jinshuang, was born July 4th, 1997. She entered a foster family on August 9th, 1998 after spending a year in the orphanage. She went to kindergarten at the age of 4 years. At school she is a child well-liked by the teachers. She is fond of singing and dance. At age 6 years she enrolled into preschool and at the age of 7 years, she enrolled in Grade 1 in primary school (in China children attend kindergarten from age 2-6 yrs, then attend preschool and then primary). She studies hard, finishes homework on time. She is quiet, stable; she respects her teachers and helps her foster mother with chores. She is soft and well-liked by classmates and peers. She likes the outdoors and “the nature”.

Jinshuang is bright, empathetic, friendly and kind. In the eyes of the foster mother and teachers, she is tender, cute and an obedient child.

Jinshuang’s staple food is rice and she has 3 meals per day with 2 small bowls per meal. She eats all kinds of meat, vegetables, fish, eggs and fruit. She is not “choosey to food” and has no food preference. Her intellectual development is normal on the level of the children of the same age. She gets along well with her foster family and will tell her foster mother whatever happens outside the family and asks her foster mother’s help with any difficult problems. She looks like a happy, healthy, sensible, honest and beautiful child.

We are so happy and feel so blessed. Today we received our referral to adopt Wan Jinshuang. We hope to receive our travel approval soon (4-5 weeks?). Thank you for all your prayers. We are humbled by the love and support of our friends and family.

We are told that earlier this week Faith was asking when will she see her "American mom and dad." Our family is joyful and in awe of this amazing journey.

We thank God for all His goodness and mercy. Our Blessed Mother Mary ROCKS!!!!

Travel Approval - August 31st, 2009

We FINALLY received our Travel Approval after FOURTEEN agonizing weeks of waiting. We are told now that we need to be in Nanchang by September 20th, 2009... so we should be boarding a plane on September 18th or 19th! A friend called the orphanage for us about 2 weeks ago and spoke to the assistant director. The assistant director said Faith was asking when her parents were coming because school was getting ready to start (September 1st). He said she is trying to learn English, and she is "dying" to meet "all of you."

Thank you God. Thank you to Our Blessed Mother for delivering all our prayers to her Son, Jesus.
