This website is to document my journey to China to pick up my baby daughter.

I began this process in the beginning of 2005 and my paperwork was logged in, finally, on November 21st, 2005 (this date is called my LID). I am using Children of the World, an agency in Fairhope, Alabama.

In May of 2007, The CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) changed the rules and now single women, like me, can’t adopt anymore. Since I was already logged in it doesn’t affect me. But I won't be able to go back and get Katherine a sister. I am so grateful that I missed this rule and have this wonderful opportunity.

I decided to get this site up and running because things will happen quickly and once I get my referral I’ll have about 4-6 weeks before we travel. My sweet parents will be joining me on my journey and I am so thrilled to have them along. I will also be traveling with 2 other families, both of whom I have met and love, and the director from our agency. It’s going to be the greatest trip ever.
