Ellen D. Mandap(December 17, 1981)
Ellen was my summer 1999 companion.  At that summer we were taking up Math 64 Calculus II.  Boy!  The subject was terribly difficult.  As the day of the first exam was nearing, almost everyone in the class were a little worried.  I myself, unfortunately, one day before the exam, had fever.  I immediately informed Ms. Panganiban about it.  I told her that I might not be able to take the exam the following day and I asked her if I could take a make up exam. What happened was I got my tonsils severely inflamed.  I told AJ about it.  He told me that he also suffers tonsilitis occasionally.  I told him mine case was to undergo an operation.  (Good thing it was not.)  The following day, I asked ma'am about the makeup exam.  She told me that she was a little busy that time and I should make bawi na lang daw on my next exams.

As I was worrying about my grade to be that summer, Ellen never let me alone.  She was always comforting and calming me then.  To her I disclosed most of my fears for the subject.  She gave me the best advice for my problem-pray.  I did it.

The following semester, Ellen and I were still classmates in most of our subjects.  We also went home together by bus since she was from Pampanga and I was from Bulacan.  We share a bus ride till Monumento (just like AJ and I).  After getting off the bus, Ellen and I would walk till Ever Grand Central where we would pass thru till we exit at the mall's front entrance.  There we would take separate ways, Ellen to the bus terminal heading Apalit and I towards the jeepney terminal to Obando, Bulacan.

During Arian's 18th birthday(September 23 but was held September 19, 1999), Ellen helped me to get accommodation to Maan's place where all of us guys (me plus the UP MMC), stayed overnight.

I could still remember: one day, Ellen and I were in the UP MMC tambayan and we were browsing a thesis made by a fellow MMC member who graduated 3-1/2 years.  Both of us were impressed by that student.  The student was a girl and her thesis was about the cobweb model.  (I never thought that I could also finish my course in 3-1/2 years at that time.)
