Roald Miklos I. Sugapong(Roald) - 05 June 1981
During my first year in high school, since I was a newbie in Elisa Esguerra High School.  (Actually, all of us are newbies there, since EEHS is just a high school institution. I.e., it does not have an elementary branch.)  But there are these students from the nearby Malabon Elementary School (MES) who came in flocks at EEHS so they used to be the majority of the high school class.

As a result, I was an instant loner at the star section.  Clearly, because I was the only one student from San Diego Parochial School who was able to enroll there at that time.  At the same instance was Roald Miklos I. Sugapong, who came from St. James Academy, a catholic school in Malabon's town proper.

Immediately, we became acquaintances.  Then so we became the constant companion of each other.  In other words, we were the ones always together in and out of the class.  I can still remember that after the class is dismissed for the lunch break, me and Roald will then proceed to his lola's eatery where we spend the noontime break with a hearthy meal.  Then so after a month or so, Roald introduced me to his second cousin Ren Carlo.  So after that, we were already a threesome in our lunch times.

We were sophomores then when Roald and I slowly part on our ways.  This is how it began:

Roald and I were still together as the sophomore year opened.  We had this habit of comparing girls on and on.  As to who owns the best get up? As to whom possesses the biggest b..bs, and so on.  But we were discreet then.  As we asked one another who was the crush of the other, we found out that we were keeping our eyes on the same girl-the newcomer Rhea.   But I then saw one thing in her that turned me off-she was so galawgaw (just a little).  So Roald was left illusioned, or shall I say disillusioned to Rhea and he continued courting her.  And after a week of Roald weaving sweet words, they became a couple.

Since I was the class valedictorian for the first year class, the incumbent majority party decided to have me run as a second year representative-a position in the so-called legislative body of the school's student council.  Just too low position in the council-but for me it was a great challenge since it was my first time to run in high school student council.  I still remembered by  that time that our batch's candidates for the first year reps were from MES.-HUH!  Did I smell political dynasties here?  Rhea was also chosen to run since she had many friends then.  What happened was both of us run. During the campaign period when Roald was out of the scene, I was so tempted to dilly-dally with Rhea.  But my morals kept those ideas as only ideas on my mind.

Unfortunately, I was only I who got the post.  Everything was supposed to get back to normal then.  Even Rhea and Roald became normal... normal friends since they broke up after a week or so.  But one thing never came back as how it seemed to be-me and Roald as buddies since he discovered that I attempted to court Rhea while he was away.
