~ The Buck That Scared My Wife ~

My favorite time of year is November, that is when deer season begins in Kentucky.
I was very anxious to start hunting in my favorite place in the woods. Becacause I had seen many pretty good size bucks, in the same area where I was going to hunt this season. And I couldn't wait!
I had everything planned out to a *T* but at the last minute my wife wanted to go with me again. And that was great because Ihad wanted her to go again with me for a long time.
So that first weekend we got all our stuff ready for the next day. She was excited, just as much as I was.
Well we got up pretty early that morning, ate breakfeast, and got on our way.. When we got to the woods, it was still dark. But we could see by the full moon.
I sure thought it was going to be a slow day, because the wind was blowing about 10-12 miles per hour. Out of the north west and it was pretty cold.
The first thing I done, was I left a scent trail to her stand. Then put out some scent bombs around her stand.
I finally got her in it and settled her in it. Then I got in mine about a 100 yards away.
Boy! All at once I heard a loud shot, and I came a hair jumping out of my stand. When I finally came down I knew my wife had shot.
A few seconds later, she called me on my radio. She was screaming, and hollering like she was scared to death. So I got down as fast as I could and ran toward her. I thought something was wrong with her.
She seen me and she was crying and screaming out loud.
Honey! I have killed the ugliest deer that I have ever seen in my life.
I thought she got hurt but when I got there, Lord, that was one ugly deer! And I laughed out loud. Very Loud!!
And I said to her "Well at least, honey, you did kill one and I didn't.
But I do agree with you that is one UGLY BUCK. That thing had to come a long way to see you laughing out loud
But she did get one and I didn't, and she sure did rub it in. But I will get her next year, I hope. I just hope that it isn't as ugly as her's was! But any will do.
