News and information from the world of the new Ginyu Force to you! Read on for all my latest updates.
Friday, June 27, 2003: Well, wouldn't you know it -- Last week I said I'd try to have some new pictures up over the weekend, but I then failed to do so. They're here this week, though, so I hope you can forgive me. Before we get to them, however, I have to annnounce the opening of the Volume Sixteen area, which contains the first chapter of said volume, "Commander Blue's Story." You learned last week who the mastermind behind the new Red Ribbon is, now you can learn how he came to occupy this position.
Next, the pictures I promised. On the Volume Fifteen Images Page, you'll find a picture of the reunion between Iresa and Violet,, an image of our heroes' new ally Gangat, and the completed version of the Red Ribbon Villains Picture. Then, in the new Volume Sixteen area, you'll see a picture of General Violet wielding her new weapon, which she unleashes in the new chapter.
I hope all this makes up for the lack of images over the past few weeks! I'll be back next weekend with even more!
Friday, June 20, 2003: Greetings, all! I must apologize for my failure to update last week, but my brother's graduation, a friend home from grad school, Father's Day, and the suddenly very real possibility of my finally getting the ever-elusive "real job" conspired to prevent that.
I hope you'll forgive me, however, as this week I bring you two new chapters of Volume Fifteen, closing it out. First is the one you should have seen last week, "Bitter Reunion," in which Iresa and Violet meet face to face at last, and second is "The Commander Revealed," in which, as you might surmise from the title, the commander of this new Red Ribbon Army finally shows himself. You've probably already guessed who he is, but now you'll see if you're right.
Finally, once I get home from work, or possibly tomorrow, I'll try to have a handful of new pictures for you as well, so be sure to check back later this weekend for those!
Friday, June 6, 2003: Hello, world! Today, I bring you the new chapter of Volume Fifteen, "A Breather," in which several key events happen. I don't want to spoil anything, but I will mention that our heroes meet up with Britney Zeno, former ZUY 1/2 Fighter, who has since grown up. Check out this picture to see her in her youth as a ZUY 1/2 Fighter, then click this one to have a look at how she's... matured.
You'll have to read it to see what else happens, but rest assured that there are two more important points in this chapter. Until next week!
Saturday, May 31, 2003: Our update is a little late this week, and in comparison to some of the more recent ones, it's also a little small. But nonetheless, here it is: The new chapter of Volume Fifteen, "North Capitol." Now that Shuri-Ken is out of the picture, will the Dragonball hunt become smooth sailing for our heroes, or does greater danger lay somewhere ahead? As this story is based on Dragonball, you probably already know the answer, but I hope you'll keep reading anyway.
Until next week, my friends!
Friday, May 23, 2003: Special alert! Somewhere between last week and this week, I passed one thousand hits on the main page! I'm sure some of those hits are me looking at the page once in a while, but still... A thousand hits in a little over two years is about one and a third hits per day, and that sounds pretty good to me. Anyway, onto the new stuff:
Last week, Shuri-Ken announced her final finishing move, now this week, in the new chapter of Volume Fifteen, called "Shuri-Ken's Secret Technique," you can see what it is (but if you've read her Character Profile, you should already know)!
And for those naysayers who wonder why Shuri knows this technique--Well, it was stated in Dragonball that Tsurusennin knew it, and had taught it to Tien... So why shouldn't his brother Taopaipai, of the same school of martial arts, also know it and have passed it on to his own prize pupil?
Finally, I've got a picture of Shuri demonstrating the attack up on the Volume Fifteen Images Page.
I announced last week that I was off to see The Matrix Reloaded, and indeed I did. Out of the five of us that saw it, only one didn't like it, so I recommend it to most. If nothing else, you'll enjoy the fighting!
That's all this week, so be good and remember to support Lupin III by watching the new episodes Cartoon Network has started airing!
Friday, May 16, 2003: Even as Melonia does battle with the deadly Shuri-Ken, Oysta must contend with the villainy of the sinister Taopaipai! All this and more come your way in the new chapter of Volume Fifteen, "Sound and Fury."
Have you ever noticed how many pictures of Melonia I seem to put up? No? Well, to help you out, here's a another one in her section of the Other Characters Page: Mel in all the forms (normal, False Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan) she is able to attain as of the Red Ribbon Reborn Saga.
That's all I've got this week. Having watched the first Matrix film last night, I'm now ready to go see Reloaded tonight. Hopefully, it'll be as cool as the original... Though I haven't been looking forward to it a whole lot, since it's been so long since the first one. Anyway, see you next week!
Friday, May 9, 2003: The ultimate showdown? Perhaps, as Melonia and Shuri-Ken finally cross paths in this weeks chapter of Volume Fifteen, "Yunzabitt Heights." If you haven't yet read Shuri's Profile, now would be the time to do it.
I've put up one new picture on the Other Characters Page, of Melonia as she appears in the Red Ribbon Reborn saga, so have a look at it. I think it's one of my better depictions of her in a while.
Finally, I hope everyone saw X-Men 2 over the weekend. Speaking as a comic book fan, I found it to be much better than the original, and if you know much about the X-Men, you can see that it's already set up for a very exciting sequel. Speaking of movies, are you all going to check out The Matrix Reloaded next week? I don't remember the first one all that well, so I'll need to watch it first and brush up, but I think this one should be just as good.
So anyway, read the chapter, look at the picture, see X-Men 2 if you haven't already (or even if you have; it's worth a second look), and I'll be back next week with more fun.
Friday, May 2, 2003: After the numerous updates for last week's Shuri-Ken Day, today's items will seem somewhat unimpressive, but here they are. First off, tying in with Shuri-Ken Day, we have the new chapter of Volume Fifteen, "A Day in the Life of Shuri-Ken." It's kind of short, but it gives us some insight into Shuri's character.
After that, you can have a look in the new Volume Fifteen Images Page, at an image of Shikijo-Sukeban, Shuri's demonic mistress who appears in this chapter.
Finally, you'll notice a mention of one Daio-Akki in this chapter, and if the name sounds familiar to you, it should. He's been mentioned several times over several chapters, usually by Kiwi, and if you want to know more about him, have a look at Kiwi's Character Profile. Daio-Akki will be the driving evil force behind the next saga (still a ways off), so be ready.
Finally, don't anyone forget to check out X-Men 2 when it comes out this weekend. It should be a good show.
Friday, April 25, 2003: Well, I'm back from my trip, and bearing gifts for all. First off, as is the rarely-broken tradition, I've posted the first two chapters of the new Volume Fifteen, titled "On To the Frozen North" and "A Shopping Trip." Beware--"A Shopping Trip" gets very bizarre at one point, with Bembu "breaking the fourth wall," to use comic book parlence.
Also, since this volume (though not necessarily these chapters) features Shuri-Ken coming into the spotlight, I've named today, April 25, Shuri-Ken day in honor of the buxom ninja vixen. First off, you can check out Shuri's Profile in the Characters section. Then, in the Miscellanea Section, you can learn the E True Hollywood Story of Shuri's behind the scenes evolution in the Convoluted History of Shuri-Ken. Finally, you'll be able to thrill to several images from the backlog of Shuri material I've been building up on the Shuri-Ken Picture Page, now available from the Images Page.
In other news, I finished those Deep Space Nine season two DVDs, then moved onto the Piccolo Daimao Saga set. Having only read that saga till the manga was cancelled (before Goku and Piccolo fought), and having avoided most spoilers about it, I have to say... it's amazing! You can really tell that it was about this point that Dragonball took on the more action-oriented quality that would define it for the rest of its run and through DBZ. I can't believe I have to wait till June for the next half of the saga! At least I have the new Batman animated series DVD (though it only has four episodes) and of course, the second half of the second season of The Transformers to hold me over till then.
Anyway, for one update, this is a lot of material, so I hope you're happy! I'll be back next week with more fun and excitement.
Monday, April 14, 2003: I leave for my trip in the morning (it's just after midnight on Sunday right now), but I'm putting in one minor update before I go. I realized on Saturday that the links to several of the Character Profiles were broken somehow, so I've fixed them. They all work now.
Also, there's a new picture up on the Main Page of Bembu and Oysta modelling one of Bulma's very early Dragonball fashions in honor of Easter.
That's it, so I'll see you soon!
Friday, April 11, 2003: It's another week, so here's the final chapter of Volume Fourteen, "A Trick up Their Sleeves." Judging by that title, it must be time for the Red Ribbon forces to unleash their secret weapon, eh?
Also, after you've read the new chapter, you can have a look at that very same secret weapon right here.
And that's all we've got for this week, group. I'll be gone next week, so I may not get to update. If I do, you can look forward to the first two chapters of Volume Fifteen, as well as... Shuri-Ken Day. If not, I'll have them the following week. Either way, don't miss it!
Also, as you'll see at the bottom of the page, I've brought back my "What's New" archives. Most of the links are probably dead, and there are no frills to be found, but for anyone who cares about re-reading my past updates and looking for the words of wit and wisdom I may have espoused in the past, it's all there at your disposal now.
As I said, next week I won't be around... So be good!
Friday, April 4, 2003: Hey, gang! I know you're just itching for some anime-style giant robot fightin', girls losing their clothes in battle action, so here's the new chapter of Volume Fourteen, called "Demon Robots!" It's time to let Bembu show us what she's made of, so get ready.
Also, I've brought you no less than two new pictures: The first is of one of the Demon Squadron jet/robots, inspired by the original Red Ribbon Battle Jacket and the Transformers. The second was inspired by my Deep Space Nine season two DVDs, and is in honor of the tenth anniversary of DS9 (though the show premiered in January '93, I consider the anniversary to last all year), and depicts Melonia in a Starfleet uniform. It's a departure, but it's fun... And yes, she's on the bridge of a Galaxy-class starship, of which we only saw one on DS9, but I liked the background image, so I used it.
Finally, my Dragonball King Piccolo Saga DVDs arrived yesterday, but I won't be watching them till after I'm done with DS9. And even then, if the second part of season two of the Transformers has come out, I'll probably watch that before DB. I'm really looking forward to the Piccolo episodes, but DS9 and the Robots in Disguise must come first.
Anyway, until next time, keep upholding the faith!
Saturday, March 29, 2003: Happy V-O Day, everyone--V-O, of course standing for "Victory Over Oakland." I just got back from the Giants/A's exhibition game at Pac Bell Park a little while ago, and it was a fun time. A homer from Barry Bonds, Marvin Benard steals home plate--A fantastic outing for the All-New, All-Different Giants. If they play half as well in the regular season, they'll be a force to be reckoned with.
Anyway, sorry I didn't get to the regularly scheduled update yesterday, but here it is today. We have the new chapter of Volume Fourteen, "Approaching the Base," for your reading pleasure, as well as a new picture in the Images section, of Red Ribbon fighter pilot Major Crimson.
That's all I've got today, but next week you'll be getting another new chapter and picture, so you should be content. This Tuesday Deep Space Nine season two comes out, so I may vanish of the face of the Earth for a while, but pay that no mind if it happens. See you later!
