Florida Hurricanes are a Bush/Rove PLOT!
Topic: Global Warming
You can NOT make up things like this. Many thanks to Donald Sensing at

One Hand Clapping

for putting me on the track of this diabolical Neo-Con Conspiracy.

"Hurricanes were Bush's jobs-creation program You may recall that George W. Bush was blamed by the "Scientists and Engineers for Change and Environment2004" and the NAACP National Voter Fund for the hurricanes that devastated Florida this year.

No, really, he was.

Now we learn that bringing hurricanes to Florida was part of his devilishly clever pre-election economic program"

Talk about Power in just a few short years the Neo-Cons have managed a complete climatic change in order to achieve political dominance.

Folks I ask you? Can we trust anyone to hold the reins of Power who actually believes such bilge?

The unteachable ignorance of the red states
When I read this essay

The unteachable ignorance of the red states
By Jane Smiley and came to the part where she says, "The history of the last four years shows that red state types, above all, do not want to be told what to do they prefer to be ignorant. As a result, they are virtually unteachable." "Can the Democrats appeal to such voters? Do they want to?"

I thought a long time on how best to answer her and decided this way would be good.

The lines "oh You're So Condescending your Gall Is Never Ending we Don't Want Nothin', Not A Thing From You"

I found to be particularly fitting. ;-)

We're Not Gonna Take It

Oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore

we've Got The Right To Choose And
there Ain't No Way We'll Lose It
this Is Our Life, This Is Our Song
we'll Fight The Powers That Be Just
don't Pick Our Destiny 'cause
you Don't Know Us, You Don't Belong

oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore

oh You're So Condescending
your Gall Is Never Ending
we Don't Want Nothin', Not A Thing From You
your Life Is Trite And Jaded
boring And Confiscated
if That's Your Best, Your Best Won't Do

oh.....................
oh.....................
we're Right/yeah
we're Free/yeah
we'll Fight/yeah
you'll See/yeah

oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore

oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore
no Way

"How can 59,054,087 people be so dumb?"
Some Europe newspapers less than enthusiastic about Bush re-election

LONDON (AP) -- Many British newspapers cast impartiality aside in reporting the re-election of U.S. President George W. Bush.
"How can 59,054,087 people be so dumb?" asked the Daily Mirror, a liberal tabloid that opposed the war in Iraq. Inside, several pages of coverage were headed "U.S. election disaster."

Here at home there was also dismay expressed in some corners.

The unteachable ignorance of the red states.

OR

Why Americans Hate Democrats?A Dialogue

"The history of the last four years shows that red state types, above all, do not want to be told what to do?they prefer to be ignorant. As a result, they are virtually unteachable.
"

Some of the Mantras of the 60s were,

Power to the People, Raise the Consciousness of the Masses,
Empower the Electorate!

There were some unspoken, and maybe even subconscious assumptions in those days. After all was said and done. they achieved their aims, the Masses did become aroused and entered more fully into the Maelstrom of politics.

That is when the unspoken assumptions hit a brick wall. You see, the Masses were supposed to do what they were told to do by their "betters", those more spiritual, more nuanced, more culturally sophisticated. But it turned out some of the masses had different ideas, and it JUST WASN'T FAIR!!!

You can hear the wailing, rending of clothes and gnashing of teeth even now.

You see some of the masses thought not wanting to do what they were told and being ignorant were not the same thing at all. But to the Liberals who feel betrayed, if we were not "ignorant", then we WOULD do what they told us to do.

I have news for them. We really do NOT like being
"told" what to do, but even more than that if you get in our face and tell us we are "dumb" or "unteachable ignorant"?

You will have our FULL ATTENTION, and as Yamamoto pointed out, that is not always such a wise thing to do, "to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

Michael Moore had a lot of confidence in Americans he called "slackers". He said, "The slacker motto is: 'Sleep till noon, drink beer, vote Kerry November 2,'" Moore quipped. "Pick nose, pick butt, pick Kerry," he added to applause. "Slackers of the world, unite!"

I do believe his Kerry slackers slept past noon or maybe had too much beer. They did not make it to the Polls.

This attitude is not new at all to the Democrats. In the 1840 Election

The Democrats then stumbled into a bad trap.

One of their newspapers ridiculed Harrison as a dull rustic: "Give him a barrel of hard (alcoholic) cider and settle a pension of two thousand a year on him, and take my word for it, he will sit the remainder of his days in his log cabin."

THAT got the common man's attention and won the Election for William Henry Harrison. One group of Whig party members pushed a ten foot, paper and tin ball emblazoned with pro-Harrison slogans for hundreds of miles. Others handed out whiskey in log cabin-shaped bottles supplied by the E.C. Booz distillery. (Thus came two additions to the American vocabulary: "keep the ball rolling" and "booze.")

I have an idea, we need to do something to thank Michael Moore, how about everyone picking their nose and mailing what you end up with to him?

Thou Shalt Not Kill=Racist
Mood:  on fire
Topic: Eurabia
(via LVB: Tolerantie (1).) In the Netherlands, artist Chris Ripke reacted to the murder on Theo Van Gogh by an islamic fundamentalist by painting a mural with the text "Gij zult niet doden" ("Thou Shalt Not Kill"),
From Live From Brussels

But because the head of the nearby mosque complained to the police that this was 'offensive' and 'racist', the cops came and sent in city workers to sandblast the mural. A local journalist, Wim Nottroth, who wanted to protest against this by standing in front of the mural was arrested. His story, in Dutch, here. Video of the event, here.
It has come to this.

Of cours this DOES fit right in with plans for the Future of Europe.

"The leaders of the European Union have agreed on a "road map" for the future. Sources close to the negotiations released the map to the media, showing how the EU's leaders expect Europe to look in 2015, at the end of a ten-year plan they hope to adopt next year"

Now to unfinished business
Topic: Islamic Jihad
Today is the 25th anniversary of the day the jihadis declared war on America. On Nov. 4, 1979 Islamist students in Tehran overan the U.S. embassy and took 66 Americans hostage. The hostages were held for 444 days. They were released on Jan. 20, 1981--the day Ronald Reagan was sworn into office.

Normalising Relations with Russia

Leaving Saturday for a trip to the Former Soviet Union. I will try to improve relations with at least one Russian her name is Tatyana. What we sometimes find ourselves doing to promote World Peace! ;-) 99 Luftballons

Committees of Correspondence
The American Revolution
Committees of Correspondence
In an era before modern communications, news was generally disseminated in hand-written letters that were carried aboard ships or by couriers on horseback. Those means were employed by the critics of British imperial policy in America to spread their interpretations of current events.

Today we are in the midst of the Second American Revolution. It is a Revolution of Information, no longer can elite gateways control what we can see, hear and discuss.

To the Committees of Correspondence of the Second American Revolution, the BLOGS this space in the internet is gratefully dedicated.

Special committees of correspondence were formed by the colonial assemblies and various lesser arms of local government. The committees were responsible for taking the sense of their parent body on a particular issue, committing it to a written form and then dispatching that view to other similar groups. Many correspondents were members of the colonial assemblies and also were active in the secret Sons of Liberty organizations. In the early years, committees were formed to address a specific problem, then disbanded when resolution was achieved.

The first formal committee of correspondence was established in Boston in 1764 and was charged with rallying opposition to the recently enacted Currency Act and the unpopular reforms imposed on the customs service.

I do not intend it to espouse any profound thoughts of my own. Though I may comment from time to time.
It is a place for me to store the Committees of Correspondence that I find of value in the Bloguniverse, their addresses and some of their posts.

If you find it useful, then that is an added benefit.

If you have made it back here to the beginning of my blog on this date or after Sept 4,2006, you probably noticed I changed my mind and have been posting some of my own thoughts, though the part about not being profound is probably still true ;-)
