This is Monica and I in my old dorm room at Corbin freshman year, probably on our way to the Hawk, which was our big hangout freshman year because it was one of the few bars we could get into.
This is me and Jessica, my next door neighbor at Corbin freshman year. For some reason we really like to take awful pictures of ourselves by ourselves, the kind where you hold the camera up in front of you and take the pic yourself. Somehow this one turned out ok.
This is me and Monica at Sig Ep's Formal freshman year in the Lake of the Ozarks. By the time we left our room had approximately $1,200 worth of damages, I think mostly due to the fact that Monica and Collier decided to play baseball with the vases in the room. Timmy falling into walls didn't help either.
This is me and Katie on our way to one of my sorority parties. If I remember correctly, Katie didn't last very long and ditched out, but it was nice to have her around for awhile.
This is Stacie, Katie, Monica, me and Lindsay, all from Shawnee Mission West on our way to NITO, a Kappa Delta party thrown every year in honor of the new freshman.
Freshman year was the year of the Pokey Stick. They are great cheesy bread type-things that you get from Gumbys and they're really yummy. Jenny and I were desperate this night, so we gave the delivery man all change and we felt bad not giving him a tip so we put a hole in one of the baggies to make it seem like all the money fell out. We were inventive, and also drunk, and we would do anything for our pokey sticks.
On 6N with had a little club called the lonestar bandits, and the goal was to take as much cool stuff as you could that didn't belong to you. This is the night Jenny and I became a part of the Lonestar Bandits when we stole the brown bag special sign from the Crossing. Once again, the alcohol helps us make all these wise decisions.
This is a group of us that lived on 6th North together in Corbin Freshman year.
By the spring of freshman year, the Crossing was our second home. It's on the way home from class, so we usually ended up there every afternoon. Eventually we would go home and take naps and then end up back at the Crossing for more fun.
After freshman year I moved into Campus Place for the summer with 3 friends, Mennen, Fred, and Monica. This is Mennen the night he moved in. All week long he talked about how much he was going to party and drink, and stay up super late. He passed out at about 11pm, but we had lots of fun drawing all over him with permanent marker. He should have known better.
This is Fred, the other guy I lived with that summer. Here he is in Mennen's room singing for us.
This is me and Monica, the two female roommates. As you can tell, we liked Kareoke, and Mennen had a great set up. I wish I could remember what we were singing, probably Every Rose Has It's Thorn. Mennen loves Poison.
Every Friday night of the summer people would drive up from Kansas City and we would all make the walk down to Jerseys for 2 for 1 stiffys. Usually we didn't remember the walk back up, which meant that it was a lot of fun.
People would also come up every Wednesday night and go to the Crossing to see Mennen and Marshall play. They mostly did cover songs, a lot of Poison. They had a few original songs, "Rain" will always be my favorite, with Eric Dickerson sitting on the sides, singing along with his eyes closed.
This is me and Fred at a party we had over the summer. Fun stuff.
Jessica made a trip up to MN with me at the end of the summer. In this picture we are at my cabin in Northern Minnesota on the cool tire swing that my grandpa made for us when we were all kids.
This is me and Jessica at my new house in MN. My parents moved after I graduated high school. Here we are outside on the deck swinging in the sky chairs which are super comfy.
