|:: KU Basketball 2003 ::|

As most people know, KU is a basketball school, and the 2002-2003 season was a pretty exciting one. These are pictures of my friends and I during March Madness, when I spent way too much time at the Hawk.

This is me and my roommate Janessa at the Hawk to watch KU play Duke in the Sweet Sixteen. I think people still had doubts because there weren't that many people at the bar. Or maybe that's because it was a school night.

This is Stacie, Holly and me celebrating Kansas' win over Duke in the Sweet 16. More people showed up to the bar after we won, and it was a fun night.

Here me and Timmy are after KU beat Arizona which meant that we would be moving on to the Final 4 for the second time in 2 years.

I love it during basketball season when the band comes to the bar and plays fight songs, it's especially fun to hear them play when KU has just won a big game and are on their way back to the Final 4.

My parents just happened to be in town for the Final 4 game. So, my mom and I drove up to Lawrence and got to the Hawk around 11am. My dad joined us about 6 hours later just in time for the game. He's lucky we saved him a seat.

Katie Mc. and our friend Mike Blair also made the trip to Lawrence to watch the Final 4 game against Marquette.

This is me and some KU friends hanging out, wasting time before the big game. We stood on the same bench for 6 hours so that we wouldn't loose our seats, which were perfectly positioned right in front of the big screen TV.

This is what the Hawk looked like after we beat Marquette. It was pretty amazing, and a lot better feeling than a year earlier when we lost in the Final 4 to Maryland.

More celebration.

Still more.

This is me and Jessica the night of the final game against Syracuse. We're still feeling lucky at this point in time.

Well, it sucks to lose. I think everyone took it pretty hard. Lots of tears and stuff.

Here are more sad friends. After we lost to Syracuse most people took off, everyone was too sad to do much more than that.

Jessica, Janessa and I were troopers, though, and we stayed and celebrated a great basketball season. Although there were maybe 20 other people left in the bar, it was still a fun night. You can't let things like a basketball game get you down, there are worse things in life than losing.
