What Is Your Name?

12/19/99

In the spirit of the holidays, I've added a .wav file for "Leonard" on the song page. Again,
its not the best of quality, but it does give you an idea of what the song is like. Also, due to
our limited web space, I probably won't add any further song files for at least a few months.
With the current set-up, I will have to take down the current songs when I add new ones.
In other words, get 'em while you can.

SPJ Update

12/13/99

Since the October 30 gig in Lenexa, we've been working on a few different things. First, we
really have been trying to set up some shows. Unfortunately, none of them are going to work
out for us, so we're back to square one. It's a little frustrating right now, but we will get some
stuff set up for 2000. We had a lot of fun at the Lenexa gig, so everybody in the band is real
anxious to play again.

Second, in order to get some gigs, we did some recording in November with Andrew Ellner.
Ellner was the drummer in the Wombats back in the early part of the decade with Steve and
Dylan. Lately, he's been playing guitar and singing in local places like Jerry's and Mulvaney's.
Anyway, we do have a cassette demo from those recordings, and Jay has been using that to
set us up with some shows.

The only other news we have is that we will be moving into a new rehearsal space. Scott's
parents will be sad to see us leave their basement, but we're moving on to a bigger and better
basement (hopefully anyway, I haven't actually taken a look at the new facility yet). Scott's
moving into a new house, and the band's going to take over the new basement. We just have
to figure out a way to sneak the pool table, the pinball machine and the ping pong table past
Scott's dad when we move.

We Have Lift-Off

12/13/99

This website is now fully operational and ready for abuse from all of the PajamaHeads
out there. I've kept it pretty simple, but you should find some interesting little things scattered
throughout the site. I hope you enjoy it, and I definitely encourage everyone to check out the
message board and leave us some feedback.

GIVE ME A BEER
During an evening that featured a visit by the police, an angry neighbor and
a thief dressed as a pirate, the Pajamas entertained their most energetic crowd
ever. The band drew a lot of energy off the packed basement of PajamaHeads
that sang along on several numbers. After a little lesson on the lyrics, "Leonard"
really rocked as the Pajama fans belted out the chorus. Other notable sing-a-longs
were "Jessie's Girl" and "My Own Worst Enemy." "Bellz" really sounded great too,
as the crowd did the "Hey, Hey, Hey!" during the intro. Thanks to everyone who
came out! We really appreciate it, and we hope to see you at our next show.

CASUALTIES
The only casualty on Saturday night was the tip jar at the bar. It was raped and
pillaged by some pirate guy.

IT'S SPOOKY TIME, BABY
Okay everybody, put on your dancin' shoes and get ready to shake your
ass to the Pajamas. That's right. It's time to get all dressed up in your
favorite costume and head out to Pablo's to listen to the SPJs groove on Saturday
night. In the meantime, check out the crappy bootleg recording included in this
e-mail. If anyone needs a map, request one by replying to this e-mail. See ya on
Saturday.

DEBUT OF A NEW BEER
It's true. The Wolf River Hockey League is unveiling a brand new beer
Saturday night. How does this relate to the Pajamas? In the following ways:
1) Guitarists Steve McMahon and Dylan Goodwin play in the WRHL.
2) The SPJs love beer.
For further info and a peak at the label, checkout the WRHL web site at

WHAT'S NEW?

10/21/99

The band is currently gearing up for the Oct. 30 gig at Pablo's in Lenexa.

SPJs BACK IN BUSINESS
After an extended summer vacation, the Pajamas have finally re-entered the
studio to gear up for the fall leg of the 1999 Pet My Dog Tour. Currently,
the only upcoming date is the gig at Pablo's in Lenexa on October 30.
Hopefully, new dates will be added shortly. As for the much anticipated
release of any decent recording from the band, expect a slight delay on
that. The longer than expected summer hiatus has delayed any serious
recording until the band tightens up a bit.

THE LAST WALDO GIG
This is way overdue, but the June 5 gig at the Waldo seemed to go over
pretty well. We really appreciated Major Violation stepping in at the last
second to help fill the bill. Also, we had another great turnout from our
fans and friends, so thanks again for coming out to support us. I would like
to give some more details, but I don't remember much from that evening. It
must have been fun. Check out the stats below.

RETURN OF THE PAJAMAHEADS
It's time to grab your favorite pair of ear plugs and head down to the Waldo at
75th and Wornall for some Pajama-style rock. The SPJs will wrap up the spring
leg of their 1999 Pet My Dog tour with an emotional performance tomorrow night
(Sat. 6/5) at about 11:30 p.m. Avondale will not be joining in on the fun due to
a previous engagement; however, Major Violation has graciously agreed to fill in
and will kick things off at about 10:00 p.m. Grab the wife, kids and your pet
lizzard, Jub-Jub, and head on down for some good old-fashioned rock and/or roll.

PAJAMAS SURVIVE THE BOTTLENECK
The Spooksters once again played the part of guinea pigs for the sound crew as
they kicked off open mic night at The Bottleneck in Lawrence. It was tough
sledding for the Pajamas as they battled poor onstage sound. There were a few
glitches, but the hardcore PajamaHeads that made the trip over to Lawrence
reported that the overall sound was better than at the previous show in Kansas
City. The band played to the largest attentive crowd of the evening which
featured three other acts--Experiment Gone Bad, Jose PH and Sturgeon Mill.
Thanks to the fans that made the trip to Lawrence on a weeknight. We've still
got a lot of PajamaHeads out there that are in strong pursuit of that perfect
attendance ribbon. See you at the Waldo, June 5th.

FANS PACK THE WALDO
An estimated crowd of 105 crowded into the Waldo Bar & Grill last Saturday
to catch the "bar debut" of the SPJs. The band was a little nervous, but overall the
gig came off pretty well. The band introduced three new originals (Dig,
Glittering Yo-Yo
and Leonard) that drew positive feedback from the fans.
The PJs were the opening act for a bill that also included Avondale and
The Incredible. Thanks to both bands for giving us an opportunity and thanks
to everyone that came out to see us play. For more info on the big rock show,
check out the gig stats listed below.

ON THE ROAD
Next, the Pajamas will head off to Lawrence to play The Bottleneck on Tuesday,
April 13. The band is scheduled for a 10:15 p.m. starting time and will play a
30-minute set that will include all of their originals and two choice covers. In addition,
the band will be heading back to the Waldo on June 5 for a return engagement.

THREE DAYS AND COUNTING ...
After a grueling month in the rehearsal studio, the Spooky Pajamas are eager
to hit the stage Saturday night (March 27) with another killer performance.
The setting for this rock and roll function is the cozy Waldo Bar & Grill at
7438 Wornall Road (75th and Wornall). The Pajamas will take the stage around
9:00 p.m. or so. The SPJ's will be followed by local bands Avondale and The
Incredible.

MEET THE BAND
Saturday's performance will provide a rare opportunity for Spooky fans to
meet the men behind the noise. After the really big rock performance, Dors,
Dylan, Jay, Scott and Steve will mingle with survivors while enjoying some
cool barley type beverages. After all, without the fans, none of this would
be possible. See you at the big show!

WHERE'S WALDO
The Spooksters have announced plans for another assault on the general public.
This time the Pajamas will attack the Waldo Bar and Grill on Saturday, March 27.
The gig was set up by lead vocalist Pat Dors. In a statement released earlier
today, he said, "The gig is officially booked!  March 27th and we will probably
play at about 9:00.  First band out of a possible 3."

NO REST FOR THE PAJAMAS
Although it may appear that the band has been goofing off since their
performance last October, I can assure you that nothing is further from the
truth. The Spooky PJ's have been holed up at the infamous Wiener Dog Studios
slaving away on their debut EP. Expect at least two to three new tracks on the
slick new bootleg cassette due out by Fall 99. Local sources say the tracks are
under the working titles of Glittering Yo-Yo, Dig and Leonard.

whipped out their first performance at the Second Annual Halloween Bash at
Pablo's Bar in Lenexa. All band members escaped without injury. An estimated
crowd of 120 rocked and/or rolled to the nine-song Pajamas' power set. One
