ah, see now your meta bloggin'... bloging about blogs. lol.

seeing as some people don't have comment sections, i guess this'll do right here. the persuit of happiness and the american dream are killing the souls of those who have misconstrude the meaning. the capitalism which promises everyman that his hard work will return to him in more then just money, the system which procreates hate, and raised opressed fists to acts of inexcuseable violence.

Viet Nam
Kent State
Rodney King
etc...

but

i don't believe that my friends exist in this 'everyone' group. my friends will not be in deadend horrible jobs, my friends will take good care of their kids, my friends will understand that education is not the product of money, but of care. most important, my friends, i've faith in you, and that you can be content, or even happy. just remember who you are.

the history that repeats is the one left unlearned.

wow. that was quite the rant.

i'm sorry we don't talk about these things, it's just that
a) the medium of blog allows for the removal of self, even in this quite personal forum.
b) alot of this is reactionary, not stuff i think about all the time,
c) it's related to mood, the strange late night mood that inspires rants, phliosophy, and metaphysics.

the american dream is indeed a myth and bad for business. by that i mean people..it's just an expression...it's good for business. probably. i don't know. either way it's just setting people up for a big disappointment. hey kate and kirsten, remember that presentation we did about either 1984 or bnw? and we said stuff about how the system needs people to believe they can improve their status? i don't remember exactly what we said but i think it was pretty good and relevant to this...

i'm not quite so optimistic about how we'll all end up though. for me at least. laziness and apathy are very powerful. for example, in university we're supposed to do stuff we like. i, however, voluntarily did a book review of "political thought in medieval times". why, you ask? because it was short. it was also boring. think of this as a metaphor for life...i think you see where i'm heading

i know what you mean about the mood. sort of. i like darkness. unless i'm scared. then i avoid it like the plague. or hide under my blanket.

it's darker under you blanket...

i didn't say that you had to be motivated to learn and get a good job, i almost said the opposite. i said that we will be the group that raises children in a home of love, in a place of nurture to lead happy lives because they know what happy is. and they will do this because we understand the it's not about materialism, but about the care. i think we, as a group will people whoes apathy will be correctly placed. ie not in the care of our children, or in the meaningful choices we make.

i willing to bet it didnt' matter which of book review you did, it would mostlikly have been boring, but you don't take a apathetic approch to taking care of your friends.

the funny thing is... 1984 is about a corrupt communist government, ain't it? lol, funny that we relate it to our current situation.

that's some down blogging, if I may say so? Is the self really any more removed on the page than in person? A greek said you had to be alone to discover yourself. An Italian said you had to be among others.

My evil shadow tells me, however, that the american dream IS believing you don't belong to the Everyone Group.

Chimpanzees are fascinating.

Old man, how is it that you see these things?
Young man, how is it that you do not?

Really, really fascinating.

If you ever become a producer we should col-labor-ate. Especially if you're a big fat producer and I'm a skinny little writer.

about the motivation job thing....i know about the whole lovin' apathy is different from the job apathy....i still think i'll end up with a sucky job though. well, not so much sucky, it's just that i don't think i'll ever be happy in any job no matter how fulfilling. like school, but in job form

and the other thing you must remeber about the being good parents and what not is that i'm not having children or a husband or anything....i'm having cats
