FUTURE EDUCATORS OF AMERICA

Future Educators of America at Price Elementary School was formed to promote the well being of its members and advance their interests by coordinating and developing activities associated with the teaching profession. Our organization also provides social and recreational activities which foster fellowship among its members, conduct fundraisers to advance the organization's purposes, and to communicate with the other school organizations.

Goals for this year included the following:

1. Secret Pen Pal with other FEA Chapters: The purpose of this goal is to have F.E.A. members interact with other students from the same organization and enables members to develop a sense of belonging and pride to be in the organization.

2. Community Outreach Fundraiser "Coin Drive": The purpose of this goal is to allow members to interact with and give back to the community. Funds raised this year willl be donated to the Red Cross.

3. "One-to one" Assistants: The purpose of this goal is to have F.E.A. members work with one to one aides at the school. This form of service allows F..E.A. members to interact with students who have disabilities. F.E.A. members are required to spend 20 minutes of tlheir time each week to either play, have lunch, or read to a student with disabilities.

4. Develop a F.E.A.Portfolio: The purpose of this goal is for each student to develop a personalized portfolio of their growth as an F.E.A. member. Each activity or service they provide to the school and the community is inserted into the portfolio. Their portfolio also consists of educational articles they have read and pictures of themselves working as a member of the organization.
