July 2 - July 8

July 7th, Combat Zone Wrestling will be airing in ECW's old time slot: 9pm on WGTW-Ch.48 on Saturday Nights. The show will be airing in the NJ, PA, DE & MD areas. Check your local listings. For information if you get CZW, you can contact WGTW's offices at(215) 930-0482 to find out where they are on your cable system.

Hotstuff Hernandez was seriously injured in a matchup June 30th in Japan, which required 30 stitches, yet after the injury, bleeding & hurt badly, he continued the match to help his tag team partner. After one match, Hotstuff soared in polls with the Japanese fans, contending with longtime Japan regulr Dr. Death Steve Williams. Hotstuff said he will try and finish the tour out of respect to the promoter and fans. Many Japanese fans are calling him the american "Rocky" for his courage.

Jasmine St. Claire will be in upcoming films.The first, Big Momma's House 2, will begin in November. The other is the leading role in a murder mystery entitled "Passion Lane" which will air on Cinemax before going to video.

Galaxy Championship Wrestling has been approved by the state of Nevada to begin a Direct Public Offering (DPO) to the public, available only to the residents in the state of Nevada.

Eastern Wrestling Enterprise will be hoting a "Best of the Indies Tournament", covering Heavyweights, Lightweights, tag team & women's division. Entry fees are $35 for singles and $70 for tag teams. NWA Southwest stars Joey Corman and Samir along with their manager Mike Paige will be heading to NWA Wildside on July 6th and 7th and Pensacola Wrestling Alliance in Pensacola Fla on July 8th

Former Mason-Dixon Heavyweight Wrestling champion Jamie Harris set a new world bench press record of 771.75 pounds on Saturday, June 23 at Mountaineer Park in West Virginia. The previous record was 770 pounds. Jamie had a world's record of 740 pounds set in 1995. Harris, a.k.a. "The Big Evil" is not stopping there. Sterling MacFadden publishing company will be CLOSING down Wrestling World - the longest running American pro wrestling magazine. A documentary on the life & times of Suicide Kid Mike Henderson will be premering at the Hills venue of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival July 16th. There are also appearances by Mike Modest & Rob Van Dam among others. For more information click here

NY Senator Tom Libous is trying to push a bill that would order wrestlers to be examined before going into a match. The bill would declare wrestling as "entertainment" instead of a sport, would allow the NYSAC to no longer send deputies to shows. To read the article click here.

Missy Hyatt appeared on Bay Ragni's Top Rope Radio, announcing while there thatshe would be opening up an adult, pay site with tammy Sytch, the address is http://WrestlingviXXXens.com. She said the shots were taken last week, and should be up soon. Hyatt sued WCW at one time for posting a topless photo of her on the walls of the WCW's offices, and at one time was the brunt of a sexual harrassment suit filed by Michael Manna (Stevie Richards). She also has a book coming out soon.

The following names have been added to the annual Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup set for July 17th: RECKLESS YOUTH NICK BERK MIKE QUACKENBUSH CHAD BOWMAN "THE BLACK DRAGON" MARCUS JORDAN. NWA Virginia Ohio has signed a TV deal with a UPN affiliate Channel 6 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Shows will begin airing September 8th at 12am, expecting to reach 108,000 homes. For more info. click here.

Jerry Lawler will be returning to the ECW Arena fsor the first time since 1997 for JAPW July 7th.

Famed ECW Triple Crown winner and East Coast Independent star Mikey Whipwreck has announced that he will be retiring from the sport of wrestling September 1st, 2001.
