Here you'll learn how to change the door locks. Time of intervention : approx. 45mins for both doors.
1. Here's what we're going to change:
2. Start by removing the mirror cover. You can do that by simply pulling it towards you. pull...
3. Get your torx screwdriver and remove the three screws holding the door cover: one's behind the rearview mirror, the other is along the outer rim of the cover and the third one is in the handle. (see pictures below)
4. Once the screws are removed, get your flathead screwdriver and remove the plastic covering the handle:
5. Slowly pull back the door cover, you'll have to pull firmly and unclip the cover to remove it.
6. Once the cover is removed, you'll see something similar to that:
7. Now that the door's naked, we'll see how to remove the lock.
8. The easiest way to remove the lock is cutting the metal rod holding it (cut at the bottom of the lock). You can also destroy the lock and cleaning the head of the lock.
9. Now, put the new aluminum lock in position and secure it will the 'allen' key (supplied with lock on purchase). In case you baught PLS locks, make sure you remove the plastic around them as it does not pass through the hole in the door cover!
10. Now, finally, replace the door cover and do the same thing on the other door. The result should look something like that:
