The Force“…the Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together.” Obi Wan Kenobi, Star Wars – ANHThe Force is a wonderful thing. It is something that can be abused however. That is why we have created FORCE POINTS. Force Points reflect a Force users strength in the Force. For Example, Yoda the Master Jedi would have Force Points in the scale of the 76-100 range. Palpatine would have had about the same with Vader having about 51 to 75 Force Points. During the original trilogy Luke would have only had about 15 points in the beginning but somewhere near 40 towards the end of Return of the Jedi. In our version of the timeline he would have about 76-100. That being said. The Force takes a lot out of a person in order to use it effectively. It leaves them drained and they must rest to recover. Force Points Represent this as well. While using a lightsabre in combat does not in itself create a drain on the character using it, using the Force to enhance the skill of the Jedi or to do gravity defying stunts during the fight does. The number of Force Points a character has will be assigned to them by the GM. Each Force skill has a certain “cost” in Force points to use. The GM will track this. When a character has used all his or her Force Points during a gaming session, that character will feel drained and be unable to use the Force further until they rest. The character is considered “rested” at the start of each gamming session UNLESS it is specifically stated by the GM that the character is not. The character may rest during a gaming session if time in the equivalent of one night passes during the game in which the character has been able to sleep without interruption. Force Points are NOT transferable amongst players. A character who has run out of Force Points may not borrow energy from another character. The cost in Force Points for each use of a Force Skill is PER SUCCESFUL use of the skill. IN other words. If the player of a Jedi wishes to use a Jedi Mind Trick on a Stormtrooper and misses a roll against the skill, he or she does not lose any Force Points. Points are only taken away with each successful use of a Force Skill. |
