Gail Myers, Jr
2018

Gail Myers, Jr was born in Racine, WI on August 28, 1965 to parents Gail Myers, Sr and Janice Onstad. The family soon located to Monroe, WI. This is where Gail graduated from high school in 1983, and he continues to call home today.

He has two brothers, Mike and Lobbie (deceased), and one sister Brenda. Gail has three children: Daughters Sara, Lindsey, and a son, Austin.

Gail took up bowling at an early age and has never looked back. He is not only one of the top bowlers in our area, but one of the top amateurs in the entire country. Locally, Gail bowled in several leagues over the years, in all the centers. He even worked for the late Bob Kamppi, Jr at Diamond Lanes for a number of years. There he not only ran the center but coached the youth bowlers, something he has always enjoyed doing.

Aside from working as a warehouse supervisor for Colony Brands, Gail has continued helping coach the youth, and the stars of tomorrow. In 2015, he was named head bowling coach for Highland Community College in Freeport, IL. Gail just never stays away from bowling or coaching for too long. Gail’s dedication to the sport of bowling runs deep, and far beyond just the Beloit area.

Locally, Gail has been a force to reckon with for many years. Even today as he competes in some of the “senior events” knowing he’s still competitive in any division he enters. Gail has won the Pepsi Classic at R&R Bowl, along with one Beloit Daily News Holiday Tournament title. Gail has not bowled as much locally as he used to as he has taken his talents on the road where his true talent has shown.

Gail’s list of accomplishments is astounding. He is a 2 time Beloit singles champ, a 3 time Monroe City Champion and a 7 time Madison Area Champion. At the state level, Gail has won 8 championships in total. He has four team all events, 2 team titles, and one singles and one all events title. He has one PBA Regional title and one World Team Challenge championship, along with a second place. We can also add 18 MAST titles to the list.

Gail has been a record setter his entire 29-year career. Gail has spent the majority of that time near the top of the ALL TIME average leader at Nationals. After being the leader for a number of years, he has since been bumped down to 3rd place through the 2017 season, with a 216 lifetime average. Gail has never had a year under 1800 total pins which a 200+ average. To do that at the National level is simply amazing. He has two USBC titles: 2005 All Events and 2011 Team event.

Gail currently has 101 300 games. Some of those were bowled at nationals which is a huge task. To go with that, Gail has 29 800 series, with his highest being 866, which he shot on a PBA Regional shot. His high league average was 245.

Gail is already in both the Madison, WI and Wisconsin State Hall of Fames. He will be on the 2019 USBC Hall of Fame ballot.
