The ProWriter began a long time ago, when I took the challenge upon myself to create a functional text editor. I know that the average programmer scoffs at the fact that the ProWroter is written in QBasic, but hear me out. First, the ProWriter is intended as a teaching tool, not only for myself, but for others. Good style and implementing more complex algorithms are goals of it. For this project, I'm looking primarily the intermediate to advanced programmer, but any QB programmer is welcome. Go to the downloads page to grab the source to version 4, and see if you like it. For those out there in QuickBasic land who know about UnderWARE Labs and there product, let me assure you that at this stage, although their product has more features, it still lacks word wrapping and quality insert/delete functions. The ProWriter has these. I've talked to QBWrite's creator, but unfortunately, he doesn't have the time to be a real contributor. I believe that with a little work, the ProWriter can quickly surpass all competition, what little there is for DOS editors. Contact me to get more info.
