I
wasn't at all sure about this fit once we got to Indiana,
in fact, I almost turned around and brought Bob back to
Virginia! He was terrified and was unresponsive to me,
Nancy and Andora. He was not too keen on the dogs
barking. After a few hours and with the dogs outside he
crawled out from under the couch and let me rub his
belly.
Bernie
adjusted really well but, for the first 2 weeks Bob would
not let Nancy touch him. I kept in constant contact with
Nancy and said that if Bob didn't improve soon I would
come back to get him.

I
have to give major credit to Nancy! She kept me sane
through Bob's ordeal and never gave up on him. She
promised to put her barking dog in training so that he
would calm down a bit and stop chasing the cats.
Everything is working well now.
Bob
has taken over the computer room and now has a great
relationship with Nancy. He is unfazed by the dogs and
all the cats come to visit him in the puter room. Bernie
rules the house!

Bernie
and Bob came from two entirely different backgrounds.
Bernie's adjustment was a whole lot easier. Bob came in
feral, injured and not trusting of humans. Look what love
and caring can accomplish! Nancy
and I have made a pact to keep in touch always. I will
always know what is going on with Bob and Bernie. A lot
of people came together to help this boy, vets, rescue,
friends and even strangers worked together to see that
Bob found his permanent home. Don't ever let anyone say
that an older feral cannot be reintroduced into a home.
Bob is proof that they can!
