New Page!

Welcome to my newest Homeschooling Helps page!
I call it my Homeschooling Mummy page!

ABOUT ME:

I am a stay at home mom to my precious 3 year old son.
I worked outside of the home as a public school teacher until my son was born.
I love being home with my son. Homeschooling is really our lifestyle now and a part of who I am.
I am so thankful that God put this desire in me.
I can't think of anything I would rather be doing than spending every day helping my child develop into the man he will become.

I created this page and all my other homeschooling pages,
because I wanted a place to collect my favorite links and be able to share them with others who also are on their homeschooling journey.

Mommy and Michael's site is full of homeschooling links that I have found that will help in every area of homeschooling.
It is your one stop resource for all your FREE homeschooling links!
That's right! I have put tons of links on here that have free lesson plans, curriculum, games, trivia, read online stories, bible, spelling, math etc.
You just have to take a stroll on my site and find what you are looking for!
I have inculded a list of the sites I use for my lessons with my son at the bottom of this page.
I hope you enjoy your stay and come back and visit us again!

What's New?
Here's what's new on my website.

I am a hundred acre woods homeschooler!

I am a Kanga Homeschooler.
These homeschoolers often enjoy reproducing "school at home"
complete with a schoolroom, desks, posters, and the pledge of allegiance.
They love being teachers and tend to compartmentalize learning into "schooltime,"
taking off their teacher hats to become "mom" when the bell rings.

Today's Math Helps:
This works when subtracting a single big number from a teen number.
18- 9=....1+8=9....9 is answer. For -8s you add 2 to the last number 15- 8=...5+2=7...7 is the answer.

Tons of Interactive Homeschool Helps!Math,Literacy, Science

So What am I doing today?
I started making Lapbooks! YES Lapbooks!

Okay, so you never heard of lapbooks.
Well let me tell you I have just discovered them myself and they are great!
What exactly are lapbooks?
Lapbooks are mini projects that are kept in a folder.
The folder has different pockets, sides and activities.
They consist of using file folders opened up then refolded to make two flaps.
There are many ways of extending them.
If you make mini books you can put them in the and other fun things you make and add them into the lapbook.
The folder is totally interactive as well!

Preschool to Highschool will love making lapbooks. I am using them with my 3 year old right now!
You can use lapbooks with science, history, reading or you can make a themed lapbook.

Lapbooks are so much fun. I make one each week.
The goal when you are done is to have, not only a finished example of what you studied,
but something your child will go back to time and time again.
You can add vocabulary cards, mini games, reports and diagrams to lapbooks.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at.
Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
~1 Sam 16:7
