New Ideas
Question #1

In the article that I read about digital cameras, several new ideas were given. The first was that they are smiliar, yet very different from conventional cameras. While digital cameras can come in the same size as well as perform almost all of the operations that a conventional camera can perform, they can do much more. Through the use of digital cameras, the pictures you take with it can be put onto the computer, and from there, they can be posted on the internet or e-mailed to someone.

Another difference between the two types of cameras is the storage device. Unlike film in a conventional camera, digital cameras store pictures on a removable media-storage device, such as a floppy disk or a flash memory card. Also, the pictures are not developed. Instead, they are downloaded onto the computer, and saved from there.

When it comes to e-mailing your pictures, digital cameras make the work much easier. If a picture is taken with a conventional camera, the film has to be developed and then scanned onto the computer. From there, you have to adjust the size to the proper dimension in order to send it via e-mail. With digital cameras, you just need to take a picture at a 640 x 480 resolution, and you don't need to make any changes. Just download the picture and send it.

Another idea that the article gave about digital cameras was their ability to create large panoramic pictures. With the proper software programs, you are able to take many pictures, and the program will "stitch" them all together, giving you a 360-degree view of what you were taking a picture of.

This article has made it clear that there are major differences between digital and conventional cameras. Pretty much every difference in the digital camera is an advantage, and can really change the way that people take pictures.
