"The Fisherman and the Little Fish"
A
fisherman once went out to sea to fish. Once he was far out in his usual spot he
cast his net into the sea and when he drew it in he found he not a single fish
in his net. So again he cast his net, and once more drew it in. This
time he did catch a fish, however once he had the entire net in his boat he saw
that the fish was quite small.
The small fish afraid of certain
death began to bargain for its life. "Please, it begged. I'm
only a little fish now, but if you throw me back one day I shall be big and when
you catch me again I'll be of better use to you."
"I don't think so," the
fisherman replied. Now that I have you I think I should keep you. If
I throw you back I shall have nothing, and if I threw you back I probably would
never see you again."

"A bird in the hand is worth two in the
bush."
